The restoration of the hotel has been authentic and interesting with Southwest decor and furnishings mixed with the contemporary art. We happened upon La Posada coming out of the Painted Desert and petrified Forest National Park (about 25 minutes east) and got one of the last rooms which was excellent. Each room is named for someone famous and 107 -...

We spent 2 nights at the La Posada over the weekend. The hotel itself is beautiful and has interesting architecture. The room was large and the tiled bathroom with the jacuzzi tub was perfect. We came with our Golden Retriever and they put us in a room that had a door that connected to plenty of places for the dog...

We've been staying at the La Posada for over a dozen years, as the owners have overseen a massive restoration -- a Mary Coulter Harvey House, bashed and abused by Santa Fe RR as offices, not being brought back to her beauty. Simply put: if you love trains you will love the La Posada (and the wonderful Turquoise Room restaurant)....

We've stayed here several times, and each time gets better. Think of this hotel as a concept, rather than just a place to spend the night. When Mary Colter created the hotel she also created a fictional history for it. She wanted it to seem like you were staying at what had belonged to an eccentric uncle and had developed...

Group of 9, were seated quickly, food came fast and was good always. Enjoy the views watching the trains go by on the patio and walking around the hotel and seeing the art and way the hotel has been restored.

This was my 3rd visit to La Posada in under a year. I wanted to go someplace in northern AZ to get out of the triple digit temps in Phoenix. My first visit was solo...but was so wonderful that I made plans to go with my sister in March when she came to visit from Ohio. Recently went up with...

Wow. The Southwest decor and native art make the stay worthwhile. Memorable. There is a large dining room, a tiny bar, a large reading/relaxation room, outdoor rest areas and a gift shop (for the prosperous). Did I mention the art gallery upstairs? I had a room closest to the railroad line. That was my choice. Sure, I was woken each...

This is a beautiful, historic hotel. It is pet friendly. The grassy area for pets is separated from the grassy play area for kids. There is a train that passes just behind the hotel, but the walls are so thick that it did not disturb my sleep. Make sure to visit their gift shop and walk around the hotel and...

We went out of our way to stay in La Posada, and did not regret it. The hotel is simply stunning, packed full of beautiful furnishings, art, and lots of quirky paintings by one of the owners, Tina Mion. We stayed in a beautiful room with a tub, which was kitted out with wooden furniture and Navajo rugs. The restaurant...

Off of Highway 40, route 66 passes through the center of Winslow Arizona. Here you will find a statue of Jackson Browne of the Eagles who was the co-writer of the song “Take It Easy”. In Winslow you will find the La Posada hotel. This hotel was originally a Harvey House which was where Santa Fe Railroad travelers would stay...
