We have been to the Grand Hotel a number of times. It has now been renovated and was done very well. It is especially lovely at Christmas time. We always enjoy our visit. Nice to sit in the lobby in front of the fireplace to...More
We stayed here one night, the location was great for getting to the National Park. We even got to see an elk right by the hotel sign. The lobby was nice, lots of stuffed animals (not the plush kind). The gift shop was cute and...More
It was the perfect location for the south rim entrance to The Grand Canyon, but it was so expensive. No valet service. No warm welcome and two nights of no sleep as our room was near the noisy air con unit and there were plastic...More
We stayed one night and the hotel is dated but very nostalgic. Neighborhood is not the best but it's a room. It was clean, staff were friendly and security is on duty all night. The entire hotel is surrounded by a security fence. Hotel was...More

We stayed at the Grand Hotel & visited the Grand Canyon-South Rim February 2018. We checked & monitored the weather forecast during the weeks leading up to our trip. I would recommend you do the same. We also checked out the webcams on the parks website.
The nights & early mornings were cold & our car was usually iced over, but the days warmed up nicely. I think the temps were in the 50-60s during the day.
(The hotel offered complimentary fresh, hot coffee in the lobby both days were there- which was great on the chilly mornings)
We dressed in layers & were quite comfortable spending the entire day in the park.
The hotel is a convenient 10 minute drive to the park entry.
The paved roads in the park were well maintained & even with early morning ice, we had no issues driving from the Grand Hotel to the South Rim.
The North Rim was closed however,so we weren’t about to visit that area.
Definitely monitor the weather forecaster before you leave England.
The park is beautiful, have a wonderfully trip:)
