We stayed here last week while visiting the Grand Canyon. The front desk staff was rude, the restaurant was drastically overpriced and the food poor. I've had better steaks at the local chain restaurants. Service in the restaurant was also horrible, I never got a...More
We have been to the Grand Hotel a number of times. It has now been renovated and was done very well. It is especially lovely at Christmas time. We always enjoy our visit. Nice to sit in the lobby in front of the fireplace to...More
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Our group in total had 4 rooms.
Pros: unique ambience, good location, gift shop
Cons: hot tub didn’t work (told management first day, they acted like it was the first they’d heard of it...not likely. Never was...More
Great place, clean and very well maintained. Liked the dinner at the restaurant and the gift shop is very nice. highly recommend. Great staff and very friendly. The town is small but a nice place to stay if want to be close to the entrance.
Rooms are clean but strangely arranged with sink in the bedroom. The odour of the swimming pool permeated the downstairs . The breakfast buffet looked very unappealing and there is a unpleasant smell in the restaurant so we ate at the Best Western. Wish we’d...More

We stayed at the Grand Hotel & visited the Grand Canyon-South Rim February 2018. We checked & monitored the weather forecast during the weeks leading up to our trip. I would recommend you do the same. We also checked out the webcams on the parks website.
The nights & early mornings were cold & our car was usually iced over, but the days warmed up nicely. I think the temps were in the 50-60s during the day.
(The hotel offered complimentary fresh, hot coffee in the lobby both days were there- which was great on the chilly mornings)
We dressed in layers & were quite comfortable spending the entire day in the park.
The hotel is a convenient 10 minute drive to the park entry.
The paved roads in the park were well maintained & even with early morning ice, we had no issues driving from the Grand Hotel to the South Rim.
The North Rim was closed however,so we weren’t about to visit that area.
Definitely monitor the weather forecaster before you leave England.
The park is beautiful, have a wonderfully trip:)
