We stayed 2 nights with our children ages 12-14. I found myself in the lobby early because of the time zone change and had a wonderful conversation with Cedrick who was cordial, kind, and attentive. He had extensive knowledge of the area and surrounding communities and spoke with me about its history. When the lobby coffee machine needed attention, he brought me a fresh cup from the restaurant. He also did this for other patrons entering and exiting as the machine was attended to. Lyla was also very kind and helpful. She checked us in and, later at the restaurant for dinner, did her best to accommodate my food allergy and even showed me safe breakfast options if we decided to eat there the next morning. Our room was very clean, the staff welcoming and, as the other reviews mention, the location is accessible to everything. Great experience for our family. I would definitely recommend it to others.…
Room was dirty - dust everywhere - the bar/lounge was closed so no happy hour - the feel is of an old hotel not well kept. But above all, avoid Cedric at the reception / front desk; nasty attitude didn’t even acknowledged us when we were checking in- right there and then made the whole experience go down the drain. We weee there for 3 nights.
Richard, the concierge at the grand plaza Canyon hotel helped me plan my trip. He asked me how much time I had and gave me a detailed itinerary. This made our experience spectacular. He suggested scenic points, picnic areas and food.
Stayed for 2 nights. Overall this hotel is average for the area It was clean and quiet until about 06.30 am when people start getting ready for the day. If you are looking for somewhere as a base for the canyon this place is adequate. Do speak to the concierge for tips about the canyon.
Great Location to the Canyon. Older Hotel but clean and accommodating. The breakfast was very good and our waiter was very nice and efficient. I did not realize I forgot my purse in the room when we checked out. Lost and Found called me and since we were so far away they mailed the purse to my home. The purse and contents were home before I was. A sincere Thank YOU!
The Canyon Village is very busy so we booked Plaza at the last moment. Room is very small, furniture remembers evolution of the Canyon probably... We had ground floor room, which was very dark (windows are into the covered dark courtyard). Beds are small and I doubt these can be queen size, very uncomfortable. In general it’s a place where you rather unpack too much and pack and leave very quickly. Even if the price would be half it’s too much....
This was conveniently located to the south rim entrance. Just under 2 miles from the entry. This is an older motel-type lodging, so not posh, but clean and had what we needed. My only complaint was the squishy mattresses. Ours was definitely due for an update. Would stay again.
Room was very nice, clean, in great shape. Concierge assisted with planning on site. Check in was easy and simple. Off season so not crowded. Spread out over large area. Not multi level hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.
Location is the best thing about this hotel. It's really close to the Grand Canyon south entrance. The rooms and furniture are old and overdue for renovation. The matress was not so comfortable for sleeping. The room got a bit cold in the middle of the night and I wasn't able to adjust the temperature on the AC. The lobby area is nice. We only had breakfast there which was OK with reasonable price. But there was no buffet.
I booked a suite with 2 queen beds. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were large with good water pressure and there was a mini fridge. Our stay was great, the hotel was clean, updated and there was a saloon and restaurant in the hotel which made it easy for breakfast and dinner. The food was good and service great. The Prickly Pear Margarita was my favorite. You could even get a box lunch to go for lunch while hiking. There was an indoor garden with a spa and seating area that was just amazing. It was a quiet oasis with a fountain and plenty of comfortable seating surrounded by vegetation. The staff was very friendly. The location was so close to the park so it was a quick drive to the park entrance.
