Beautiful gardens view and deck. I am sure it was popping in the past but was very quiet and chill. Perfect if that is what you want. The owner is soo sweet along with the workers. Hot gas shower 🙏 in a private room. Simple room but it was clean and she gave me a great price. I wouldn't hesitate to return for a night or at least for dinner. She had a set menu so its best to tell her a few hours in advance if you planon dining there
We went only to the restaurant and we were very pleased with the flavors, it was just delicious! Great staff too, and a magical view from the lake with its gracious volcanoes. The sunset is simply beautiful. We will surely be back! Thanks for the great food and the kind smiles!
Four months ago this beautiful hotel got new local owners. And they're making a great job! The garden is absolutely quiet and beautiful. The food is delicious and the personell and service absolutely lovely. We had a great stay and extended for an extra night.
This place was beautiful. I have been to several hotels and traveler spots all around Atitlan across the span 10 years. There are some beautiful one but beauty is only one factor that makes a stay pleasant. Going there with a party of 2 for 3 nights was perfect. The staff there were friendly, hardworking and helpful. The food was spectacular especially with being able to look across the water whilst eating. Quite beautiful. The rooms were quaint and cute and we were lucky to have a balcony set up on our floor. Getting to the hotel itself id advise to not wear flip flops seeing as there are a couple steps and small pathways but it is short and goes right to the garden area of the hotel. Over all it was amazing and very nice for couples and solo back packers. They also had larger room available for families. The garden area is well planted and maintained and the open view of the sky to me is a huge plus.…
What a lovely place. We stayed here for 3 weeks.Santa Cruz itself is a great place to use as a base as you explore the lake. It's a very relaxed town with beautiful clean water and great views. The hotel is beautiful. I love the gardens all around and the pathways that run through them. There are plenty of places to hangout around the property, to chat or just read a book and relax. The family running the hotel is very nice and helpful. They welcomed us with open arms and made sure our stay was relaxing and comfortable. The beds are cozy, the water is hot, and the views are stunning. I would definitely come here again .
Our stay here has been fantastic. We originally requested to stay for 2 nights, and ended up staying 2 weeks!! We still haven't checked out, so maybe we stay longer. The location caught our eye as the lancha was pulling into Santa Cruz, so we went to investigate. After speaking with the managers and learning the history of the property, we were amazed to find out all the changes that's recently happened. Apparently the previous managers basically ran this place into the ground, and just didn't do the property or the business justice. We were given a tour of the property by the new manager, he was incredibly kind, patient and inviting (I should mention his English was A+, because our Spanish is not A+) He showed us the immense amount of work they have invested into this place to get it back up on it's feet. Wow! They've really done so so so much. From clearing up the jungle of a garden,(he introduced me to the three gardeners, showing and explaining their progress and plans for development) to completely renovating the buildings around the property. (New paint, light fixtures, sinks and showers, beds, doors, ) almost everything. They've redone the restaurant, bar and cafe area. Have established a large gazebo for yoga, massages, dancing, and parties. This place is so tranquil. It truly is a retreat on the lake. A great base for exploring the rest of the area. The managers also organize tours for the area, and all of Guatemala. Need a brush up on your Spanish? They've got you covered with santa Cruz Spanish school. This place really is the one stop shop. They provide a beautiful and relaxing property to sleep, enjoy the day or night, eat great cuisine (recently brought on a high class chef to prepare all meals). They organize tours and help teach Spanish. When you stay here, you are supporting generations of a local Guatemalan family. Due to our extended stay here, we've become close with the family. Meeting the wife and kids, what a beautiful family. The family done alot of work in community, and is well respected. We went for a short walk and the manager was receiving greetings, acknowledgements and handshakes from almost everyone we passed. This place is the real deal. As I'm writing this review, I'm sitting in the lakeside cafe, admiring the great views of the lake and towering volcanos, hearing the waves wash against the shore, wind rustle the leaves of the many plants and trees, nature all around, many humming birds constantly buzzing around. We for sure will return. And I'll bring my whole family!…
Let me tell you again and cannot express enough that it is more suitable for solo backpackers! I do not recommend this place. Very poor service and don't fall for the pics! No spa there, no TV'S, may come away with bed bugs! I recommend going to the Hostel next door for some real fun and great food!!! I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!!
This should be a great place, but our experience was horrible and we do not recommend it. Hot water never worked, unattractive rooms and bad food. But that could have even been forgiven. The worst was the way we saw the manager yelling at his employees. It was enough that he was rude and strange with us, but it is not ok to treat staff in that way. There are plenty of hotels with beautiful gardens and better views in Santa Cruz. Visit them instead.
The service is really great, all the areas clean and comfortable. ¡The food is awesome! I would totally recommend it. It is also very good located 🙌🏾 The rooms have hot water and the WiFi is quite fast. Is very recommended to families with children, they have an area with games and hammocks.
If you want an authentic experience where the staff is Guatemaltecan, book here! There is a brand new manager that is completely turning this place around into an epic spot. The staff is extremely friendly and they genuinely want you to feel comfortable and have a good time. There is a “temascal” on the property, the traditional sauna, where they can guide you through a ritual that ends in a jump in the lake! The property is right on the lake with my favorite view of the volcanos in all of Atitlan! The food is great and they are very cautious to keep everything disinfected and clean for visitors to avoid illness (much appreciated). It is a BEAUTIFUL hotel and you are supporting Guatemalans when you stay here. Great vibes, great views, great food. Enjoy!!!
