I loved this place as a solo traveler. The combination of being with others in the evening for a community dinner and having my own little quiet world during the day was perfect. I think the owner is an incredible man to have created on his own such a unique little paradise. He designed and built it! Yes, the steps...

We stayed at this hotel for one night in March 2014. The setting on a cliff overlooking the lake and volcanos is spectacular. It is a hike to get from the boat up to the office and then the room, but it was worth it. The room was beautifully decorated with authentic Guatemalan artifacts and had numerous windows overlooking the...

If you can snag a room at this much coveted hotel then don't even hesitate. My family and I were lucky enough to reserve three nights at this unbelievable hotel and they were three of the most magical nights we have ever had. Making the reservation was very easy since you can do it yourself on their website with pictures...

Recently returned from a stay at Casa del Mundo. The location is wonderful, and the views are amazing! We stayed in Room 13, located directly above the kitchen. The room was very charming and had a small balcony overlooking the Lake with fabulous views! The bed was extremely comfortable (a treat in Guatemala!). We booked the shared hot tub one...

We spent 2 nights at Casa del Mundo and wished we could have stayed longer. The location is picture perfect. It's quiet and away from the buzz of Panajachel, but it is also very easy to get around to the other villages. Pictures on the website really don't do this place justice, and it really needs to be experienced in...

Lovely place to come and unwind. The views are spectacular as is the location. Quite a hike up a several sets of stairs but well worth it. Wonderfully quiet at night which was a welcome change coming from Pana & La Antigua. The beautiful rooms are unique in that each one is different from the other. Comfortable beds too! Having...

A lot of reviews talk about the great view (I agree that it's truly amazing) but when you look around, there are 30 other hotels with that same view. Casa del Mundo stands out for it's unique setting and atmosphere. Since it's not directly in any "town," there is a feeling of seclusion and peacefulness. The group dinner is an...

The view from this hotel was outstanding and it was almost enough to balance some of it short comings. The trip from Pana to the hotel could have been smoother if they would hire a person to watch for guests and get them on boats and parked. It was a hassle to get luggage and car parked and on the...

My husband and I stayed at Casa Del Mundo for 4 nights. We stayed in two rooms due to availability, and both rooms had amazing views of the lake. This hotel really does have the most amazing view of the volcano across the lake. The family style dining was delicious and it was lovely dining with other guests staying at...

Spent New Year’s Eve at La Casa del Mundo Hotel. It a very nice hotel, clean and well maintained. The hotel is on Lake Atitlan in Jabilito village. The only access from San Pedro, where we were based, is by public (25Q or $3.5/person) or by private boat. The boats drop you off at Casa Mundo’s private dock. The hotel...
