Cabinas Pura Vida was recommended to us by our boat driver from Sierpe to Drake Bay, and I'm so glad it was! We were picked up on the beach and driven to the location. We were given a discount on the room, which was clean, well furnished, comfortable, and cute. I ate THE BEST casada (typical Costa Rican meal) that...

Once in Drake beach, we were picked up by the "Pura Vida" owner. We had a very warm welcoming, they seemed to be friendly. Unfortunately it was not what we had agreed on. The first night we talked about the arrangements, prices and what we wanted to have included: the whole plan sounded amazing, when it was simply a start:...

My first time at Bahia Drake, it was great due to whales, but certainly I could have found a better place to stay. $30 a night no meal included is a bit pricey. Restaurant was closed so I cannot comment on how good it is They have no safe in the room so leaving your stuff could be risky. The...

We were originally booked with a bungalow (that happened to over-book themselves and leave us out to dry with no place to stay). They set us up with Cabinas Pura Vida for our stay and it could not have worked out better for us! We were more than happy with our stay and will definitely stay there the next time...

The owner Robbie is a really great guy too and he always looks out for his guests and helps them out however he can and we always have a great time. He...

One of the best spots during our stay in Costa Rica! Besides the wonderful nature, we really enjoyed staying at Pura Vida. Very nice and clean rooms, close to the beach, supermarket and restaurants, but very calm. Friendly and warm atmosphere. Thanks a lot to Victor and his family for this nice place and also for their hospitality and help...

I stayed here for 4 nights. The room was very clean and had an ensuite bathroom and 2 fans. The room was $30 single plus tax a night making it one of the best value options in Drake Bay. Victor was very helpful with booking tours in Drake Bay and also arranged a taxi for me from Palmar Norte and...

“No wash sinks, so be prepared to use shower to hand wash adventure clothes and other gear. The one aspect I did have an issue with is breakfast. It was coffee, two pieces of fruit and plain (small) white toast with option to spread jam or better. Pretty bleak offerings and the service starts at 7:30 AM which is waaayyy too late for adventure travelers who usually wish to set off early before sun gets too hot. The panaderia is just down the road in the center of town and there you can buy bread and drink coffee and generally hang with interesting people. He takes credit card so that's nice although rate goes up. If you plan on having dinner there, my experience in small restaurants of this nature the quality of experience may be excellent but slow so...if you are pressed or don't have much patience, order half hour prior to sitting down at tables.”
