It looks more like a vacation spot than an organized health retreat. If one is coming to restore its health, he would expect balanced meals, not just self-prepared raw fruits and veggies. I thought this is the main point of any health retreat. Also, it is not affordable for an average Joe battling his way back to health. May be that is what it costs to maintain the retreat in Costa Rica, but $70-100/per night is expensive. On youtube video they said (in 2010) $3,500 for 3months including all meals, treatments, etc.

We most certainly offer a different perspective and approach than most organized health retreats. Our goal is for our guests to leave here empowered, capable of continuing, not just a diet, but a lifestyle, when they return home, to whatever degree of their choosing. That means, guests have to be hands-on in the kitchen and self-prepare their meals, they have to develop a healthy relationship with food, with nature, with themselves. It all happens here.
Some guests do use Farm of Life as a vacation spot, and we are the perfect vacation destination for the Healthy Lifestyle, for raw-vegan-vegetarians and for anyone seeking a spiritual/ meditative getaway.
We keep our prices as affordable as we can. Yes, we have slightly raised our prices since 2010 so that we can stay alive here in the jungle. Room rates are tiered such that we still offer the economical price of $70 per night plus sales tax, and we give 10% and 20% discounts for long term visits. You can spend 30-nights here for $1790, including sales tax, and this includes all the fruits and vegetables of your choosing. Good luck finding anything anywhere else in the world that is this affordable.
