I booked the place looking at the interiors which i must say is really tastefully done, little to my knowledge did i know that it will be tucked in a corner surrounded by houses with the view of clothes hanging and construction going on and kind of trench dumped with garbage. The owner has mentioned the place to be in the middle of the village to kind of set a prelude so that when you raise this issue it's safe to play for them, hence attaching the exterior pictures for reference so that one is aware inside out about the place before booking.

My husband and I stayed at Bate Papo for 3 days and had a most enjoyable time. Baneen and her staff were very attentive, accommodating and made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The place itself is filled with character and so homely. Baneen also gave us great recommendations of places to eat, recommended a reliable driver and went out of her way to share an authentic sole kadi recipe too! Thanks for a great stay and we will be back!

Had a lovely 3 day stay at this charming Portuguese home (yes a home and not a house!) the first time we entered from the main road and as we took a couple of turns in the inner lanes, we wondered where we were headed…and there it was tucked inside a thriving local community….a shining hidden jewel! Lovely exterior and elegant warm interiors done tastefully reflecting local ethos. Loved the art on display too…Baneen was a lovely host and we enjoyed chatting on the porch with her and her partner who is an amazing chef. A special mention of the super luxurious and comfortable bed that had us sleep like babies. Another noteworthy mention is Tolpai, the man in incharge who was always at hand to help with every little thing! All in all a great stay 👍👍

We had an absolutely fabulous time at Bate Papo! Baneen and Rohit are one of the finest and kindest hosts I’ve met and am saying this as a hospitality entrepreneur myself. The food was lovely and delicious. I think we tried almost everything on the menu and I recommend everything! We were celebrating an occasion and the Bate Papo team made it exceptionally warm and memorable. Fully recommend this hidden gem. Don’t miss it!
