This is an older motel near the center of Sedona. Our room was small and not worth the $197 rate. We were going to walk to Talapaque for dinner but it was too hot so we took our car. The buffet breakfast was good enough but there were not enough tables so most people took the food back to their rooms. The pool area looked nice but we don't usually do any swimming.

Hotel's Favourite
A lovely hotel. Beds are very comfortable. Rooms are large. Each room has a patio with red chairs and a swinging chair, which is just delightful. Pool is large with a hot tub. Courtyard has fire pits. Free coffee. Breakfast included. Truly wonderful stay. Perfect.

We checked into the Arabella on Friday afternoon. I booked the room through Expedia for a rate of $285/night for a "trailhead" deluxe king room. Based on the pictures online, this looked like the nicest room available. When we got to our room, we were sorely disappointed. Our patio overlooked an overflowing dumpster and a decrepit apartment complex. The front door opened onto a red pile of dirt and rocks. There was an outdated sofa that looked filthy, tired carpet, and an IKEA shelving unit holding the tv. There was no desk. In the bathroom, we found peeling paint, the toilet coming off of the floor, and a dirty plastic shower pan. We returned to the front desk and asked to be moved. Tori was manning the desk, and was clearly not happy to be asked for such an outrageous accommodation. While we explained the situation we were met with a blank stare. Literally. Blank. I couldn't tell if she was the queen of passive aggression or a deer in the headlights. I asked if her manager might be available to assist us and again....the blank stare. After clicking around on her keyboard for an inordinate amount of time, she offered us a smaller room with a queen bed for the low, low price of a $35 upcharge. Yes--an UPCHARGE to move rooms! By this point, we were so frustrated, upset and angry that we politely refused the offer and left. After a day of shopping we returned to the hotel and headed to the pool. The deck was dirty, the loungers were tired, the pool was filled with bugs....you get the idea. We walked down the street to the Hudson for dinner- overpriced, but the service was friendly and the margarita hit the spot. Then back to the room, where we listened to toilets flush, showers run and guests socialize through the paper thin walls all night. We're guessing this property used to be a Motel 6, or some kind of motor court that someone slapped some paint on, threw some IKEA furniture into and called a boutique hotel. Which would be fine....we've stayed at plenty of motels.. but none with this many issues. Staff: unfriendly and rude. Room: in dire need of maintenance. Pool: in need of a deep clean. And here's the thing: I understand that these are first world problems. Were my expectations perhaps too high? For $300/night, I don't think so. We stayed at Little America in Flagstaff the 3 nights previous for $150/night and had the most wonderful experience. Bottom line: can I give this property zero stars? Or should I blame it all on the vortex?

This was our first stay at this property, and we were very pleased. There is a beautiful trail head from which to view the sunset. Also, the pool area is adorable, and a great place to eat the to-go breakfast. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on in a hotel. I also loved that when we checked in, they were having a wine tasting. Make sure to get a bottle of the red! Staff was nice and the room was very clean. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

We stayed this past weekend for two nights at Arabella and had a great time! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. We had a trail view King which faced the red rocks. The bed was firm, but comfortable and there was a couch with two little tables perfect to eat the grab and go breakfast (hard boiled eggs, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, apples). There was a fridge in the room, but no microwave. The shower looked like it had been updated and had good water pressure. They also have a cute gazebo area in the courtyard perfect for lounging in the evening and two pools with plenty of chairs. You can't beat the location, very close to uptown shopping and TLaquepaue Village. Overall we had a great time and will definitely stay here on our next trip to Sedona.
