I visited Hideout for my fifth time over 9 days in November. It's a lovely time of year in the desert with warm days and cool nights. That said the accommodation in good for all weathers hot or cold. Hideout feels like home for me. I travelled this time with friends but I've been solo before. I rode Tyrel and...

We visited over a month ago but the memories are still fresh and the impressions will last a lifetime. First, the scenery and the country available for rides is beyond description. It is a dream like landscape full of flat fields with volcanic rocks scattered about and bordered by mountains on all sides. There are no roads, no telegraph poles,...

My brothers and I were looking for a ranch to take our dad for his idea of heaven, "On a horse in the mountains". We didn't want to "play" cowboy, we wanted to ride on awesome horses in beautiful country. The Hideout Ranch is exactly what we were hoping for! Amazing horses and several different scenic trails, even making our...

My husband and I just returned from a 5-night stay at Hideout Ranch. It was unlike any other ranch we have ever visited. Meeting Tamara and Craig was like being reunited with family. That's how they made us feel. They were so warm and welcoming, the perfect hosts. Tamara did all the cooking and every meal was delicious. The first...

Ever since I was little I've wanted to experience a ranch, and after my visit at Hideout, I really feel like I've fulfilled that dream. I had ten years of english riding experience under my belt but Tamara and Craig made the transition into western very easy and fun. I was the only guest for the first 3 and half...

This is a working ranch with a fantastic setting. Better views can't be found. The facilities have all the comforts and settings of a working ranch. The hosts are incredible people that bend over backwards to meet all your needs. The food is fantastic. Horse back riding in a great, private location. Lessons if you want them. Great family or...

I've just returned from the experience of my life at Hideout Ranch. Booked for 10 days in December, I could stay forever after being made to feel a part of the family almost instantly. I was blessed with 4 days as the only guest, something I enjoyed immensely as I got to know Craig, Tam and Josh, and the fur...

I have no hesitation awarding this place five stars, with the qualification that it is an unusual dude ranch, suitable for some, unsuitable for many. Hideout Ranch is not a "resort." There is no pool, no spa, no fitness center, no game room, no TV, no cocktail bar. (There are, however, good wifi and an extensive library of western movies...

We just got back from a 6-night stay at Hideout Ranch in Portal, AZ and I can't wait to go back. I‘ve never had an experience quite like the one we just had at the Hideout Ranch in Arizona. My friend and I have ridden previously (English) but considered us as beginners – or greenhorns – so I was a...

Tamara and Craig are real Ranch/Horse/Animal people in the truest sense of the word. I had Lozen and she was the sweetest horse. She took very good care of this greenhorn. It rained 4 days out of the 6 I was there, so I didn't get to ride but 1 1/2 days. But the ride 1 day ride I did...

Michelle - we're very sorry you have come to feel this way about your visit with us this spring (Feb 28-Mar 7) . If you felt so strongly, you should have mentioned your concerns to us before you left rather than six months later. From all indications, you seemed, to the three of us, happy and pleased with your visit....
