Out of the way, but so much to do nearby. We loved to be able to just walk out our door and start hiking. We recommend Chirrachua NM for a beautiful landscape and wonderful hiking, just about 45 minutes away from the retreat. The breakfasts were wonderful too. So much to eat we saved the leftovers for lunch!

I've spent a month at Cochise Stronghold over two separate trips in the last year. Cochise is a wonderful place to take a break from the hectic antics of daily life and get deeply centered. Nancy is a wonderful host and excellent cook. Whether solo or with a partner, this is an extraordinarily beautiful place to get away from it...

This is a great place for people to escape the Desert Heat and feel like you are in another world, a world of mountains and animals. We saw deer, coyotes, all types of birds (big and small), humming birds, and even chickens. This place has a one bedroom and small kitchen/bath with great outdoor patios in front and back. There...

If you suffer from Motelphobia and hate the unnatural experience of the i10 then spend a few days being transported to a more relaxed, beautiful and natural world. But you need to appreciate warm hospitality, birds and butterflies, cacti, flowers, deer, stimulating walks, serenity and a feeing of timeless tranquillity. If this isn't for you please do not visit the...

We made last minute plans to spend a few days in southern Arizona. Saw this place on the Internet and based on the previous reviews it sounded like a perfect place for us. Then driving back on the dirt road, with ruts, and crossing creeks, in the middle of nowhere we wondered what we had gotten into. When we we...

Suggestion: If you are flying in and renting a car, spend the extra money for a four-wheel. Arriving in daylight is preferable for your first arrival. This B & B is a drive but it is well worth it. The two rooms are in a building made of strawbales and gunnite spray. Very fascinating history of its building. It is...

Cochise Stronghold is a magical place - you can choose to be involved with a warm, wonderful community or retreat into solitude and quiet. Of all the years my husband and I have traveled, of all the B&B's we...

We are so grateful to former trip advisor reviewers for their honest reviews because we had just as wonderful an experience as others. It was a 20 minute ride on an unpaved and sometimes really bumpy road that took us into the Cochise Stronghold. This place is a quarter of a mile short of the campground and the setting is...

Comfortable, clean, with great breakfasts, healthy and big! We stayed in the Agave suite which had its own private back patio, a well organized and supplied kitchenette and a spacious welcoming room in which to sit, eat and sleep. Nancy is a smart imaginative cook, obviously interested in tasty nutrition. The owners, Nancy and John, couldn't have been more helpful,...
