We loved our stay here, the fales are nice and clean, the food was the best we had in Samoa, and Helen is such a nice woman. The snorkel in front of the fales is amazing! so big clams!! We don't understand why the giant clam Sanctuary is not on the Lonely Planet, its really worth to go.

Authentic Samoan falé accommodation with a little extra comfort. Generous, delicious meals, helpful and knowledgeable host. Elena is a charming well informed lady with plenty of helpful advice. Snorkelling superb, especially giant clams. We were delighted to see local customs being encouraged and observed.

We had a lovely stay at Le Valasi's. Perfect location to stay and go snorkel the nearby Marine Reserve to see the giant clams (they are amazing!!). Elena is a wonderful host and chef. She went out of her way to cook a meat-free dinner for us (one of the best we had in Samoa), and we had many a...

We stayed in two fales for 5 nights at the end of July 2016. We loved the peace and quiet, and having the beautiful beach across the road. No other guests had been booked during out stay. Helen and Taula were warm, welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the lovely home cooked meals. If you want a peaceful relaxing stay in...

These Fales are just across the road from the conservation area at Savaia where the Giant Clam's are protected. Fale's are comfortable though no power to them. They provide portable lights. You can recharge phones etc inside the main dining Fale. Family who manage these fale's are very polite and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were most delicious nutritious The...

Heaps of aggressive dogs, the stuff hang up all phone calls and (in the unlikely case) of an answer they are unfriendly, muttering grumpy words and hang up again. This is not Samoa. If you just want to see the clams, asking a villager for assistance or going by yourself is definitely the better option than spending 120 tala (twice...

Lovely helpful people here - $100 Tala per person includes basic Fale accommodation, shared (clean) bathroom, dinner as well as breakfast. There were only two of us and enough food for breakfast for at least 6! We loved meeting Helen the manager and talking to her about Samoan life - beautiful large area for relaxing, and it is also here...

We arrived on our bicycles and were made to feel so welcome - offered water immediately from Maria the owner who was visiting. Helen and her Chief husband (the managers) couldn't do enough for us. Food was good, views were superb and the bathrooms were clean. It is such a pretty place to stay and just across the street from...

We stayed here for the last two nights of our Samoan holiday. The fales are very new and really lovely. The setting is beautiful and the giant clams make for wonderful snorkelling - it's definitely worth taking a guide to show you these huge clams. Our hosts were very helpful and the food was great - especially the seafood soup!...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beach fale accommodation for a traditional Samoan style holiday. Le Valasi’s Beach Fales is run by Ross & Maria Jones who have made Samoa their home since moving over from Australia. Ross & Maria offer Beach Fale accommodation, which in our case is really a palagi house with a Samoan roof. It is fitted with an innersprung bed, table & chairs to be private clean and comfortable. All hotel linen is used PLUS towels are supplied. Separate toilet & shower areas nearby. Dining room, bar, and restaurant in the main fale overlooking Lefaga Bay. The Main Fale is a 60 year old traditional fale built without nails, only using Samoan rope to lash all the ribs, posts & beams together. Ross & Maria have repaired the building to its original glamour since the Cyclone in December 2012. It is one of the few remaining original Samoan houses left in Samoa as more & more families are changing to the conventional Palagi house. Large school groups can be accommodated using the big fale as a sleeping area. Le Valasi’s Beach Fales is located 35km south west of Apia in the heart of Savaia – Lefaga, only half an hour from the airport andaccessible by public transport or taxi service. Ross & Maria can arrange transfer from airport at a small charge. ... more   less
