We found this gem by accident late at night, and it was the best place we stayed while in Samoa. The people are so lovely and hospitable they even cook us some food when we arrived late, after the kitchen was closed. When we woke up in the morning the view from our rooms balcony was amazing. Blue water and... More

We had a wonderful weekend here with our 2 young children aged 2 and 4 years. The beach is stunning and very safe for families. We used the kayaks and even spotted a turtle amongst all the small reef fish. The food was delicious with very generous servings. The kids devoured the spag bowl and we loved the roast chicken... This was our 5th trip to Samoa, our 3rd visit to Savaii but only our 1st visit to this hotel. We didn't stay here but we stopped by for lunch after receiving a positive "word of mouth" review from 2 family members within our group who had stopped here for lunch previously - so glad we did! The restaurant is... More

Stayed two nights at Vaisala, rooms are air conditioned and comfortable with ocean view. Had amazing services and very friendly staff. Breakfast is included and was delicious. Also had dinner there and was good. Definitely worth the price.

My partner, 2 nephews and niece (Sydney based travellers) embarked on our "Back to our roots" tour of Savaii and chose Vaisala Hotel to be our first spot for accommodation. Let's just say that it was perfect for us. We were in room 10 which had 1 bunk, 3 single beds (Which my nephews and niece state were the most... More

I have stayed at the Vaisala quite a few times in the past and the experience has been mixed. However this time around I noticed a great improvement overall - credit to Kolone and Maeva who now run the hotel. The service is greatly improved, excellent running water and there are quite a few activities now for tourists to do... More

We stayed for a week in a garden/beach fale. It was traditional coconut thatch roof and screens, set in the rambly garden next to the main hotel building. We used the shared bathroom nearby. Vaisala bay where the hotel sits is beautiful and the coral and tropical fish are abundant. We enjoyed the restaurant location on the high balcony over... More

We came to this hotel for lunch. We arrived about 11 and had a snorkel off the lagoon in front of the hotel which was stunning. Then up to the balcony for lunch. The hotel is like a time capsule to an imperial outpost between the wars. Bring your Graeme Green novel. That said, the restaurant was spotless and food... More

Have stayed in many places in Samoa but tried this one a few months ago because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. I was pleasantly surprised and can not understand why more people do not stay here. The beach is secluded and very beautiful. the swimming and snorkeling are as good as anywhere on the Island. The sunsets are brilliant. Sure... More

The hotel feels old but has its charm. It's all wooden and rooms have a balcony with ocean view, air con and hot water. Service is good and the beach is nice too. The car park is locked at night and I heard it is the second oldest hotel in Savai'i.
