really nice owner, Javier, so available and kind. It is a sort of backpacker place, some rooms share a bathroom, and 2 apartments with private bathroom. The owner is a must, a real character, you feel at home immediately in his wooden and stone built little house on top of a hill, so close to the center of town. the... More

Javier is the kind of host that makes you feel immediately at home. First time I was there it was Xmas and I was invited to spend the Xmas lunch with him and his friend ! The second time it was like seeing a long lost friend, we cooked empanadas together and had long chats about our last years. A... More

The great reviews of Javier, his delicious coffee, and great location are all true. I prefer to live in places for a while rather than simply see sights, but obligations make that difficult now. Our stay with Javier afforded that experience, albeit for a brief stay. We saw many beautiful places and met many warm, welcoming people during our two... More

I stayed 4 nights and felt at home since the first minute. Javier is a very interesting character, and makes everything to keep hosts happy. I enjoyed the breakfasts while chatting with him and the other hosts just as if we were at home. I absolutely loved his house, with bits and pieces collected from curious places, it is very... More

Martin Fierro is a gem of a place run by Javier. I am not sure I've come across a B&B owner as helpful, friendly and invested in ensuring a guests good stay. This is a place where you leave having felt at home and having made a new friend. The rooms are a decent size, well heated and with a... More

Javier made me feel extremely welcome here, the flexibility with check-in and check-out times along with the abundant breakfast (and numerous refills of coffee and juice) were just 2 elements of the outstanding personal service. The only negative was that I was unable to spend more than one night, I would have been more than happy to stay here for... More

Javier made us feel welcome and at home in Ushuaia - and the breakfast with excellent coffee is part of the experience. This was one of the best overnight stays during our trip in Patagonia and we would unconditionally recommend this place.

"Me and my buddy stayed at Martin Fierro for about 3 nights and we loved the place. Javier the owner is a splendid guy who directly makes you really feel welcome and at home. The first two nights we stayed in a private room with our own little kitchen. We didn't use it but everything was there one could need... More

I only stayed for one night in one of the big rooms downstairs. I spent very little time there as I was in and out and leaving for an Antarctica cruise the next morning.. but I had a lovely time meeting Javier. Breakfast was huge. Great location. I would definitely stay there again if I ever returned to Ushuaia.

stayed several nights in one of the rooms with kitchenette. Room was clean and basic. Free wireless. Breakfast included, to be had upstairs at the big table with Javier. Javier is the owner and a very nice and talkative guy which could you make to stay all morning having breakfast. Location is great, in center Ushuaia, in front of the... More

“If going to Ushuaia, find a better place that has clean rooms and attentive staff. The room we stayed in was downstairs and was stuffy. There seem to be a shanty right outside the doorway.”

“If you’ve never been to Ushuaia before, be prepared to pay a lot of money for meals and tours. For the tourism industry there, it’s pretty much like shooting fish in a barrel, since the tourists are at the end of the world with no choice but to pay. The people in the tour offices can be down right rude to you, like they don’t care whether or not they get your business. Worst customer service ever. So you might have to do a little shopping around to find a tour operator with a good staff.”
