We stayed at the Edenia Punta Soberana Hotel for 4 nights during a recent trip to Argentina. The hotel was great! Staff was welcoming and accommodating. There was a slight language barrier as we asked for towels (in our admittedly poor Spanish) and it took 4 different asks to finally get them sent to our room. This hotel is located pretty far away from the city center - I think it would take at least 45 minutes to walk there. The shuttle runs on time, every two hours during the day and every hour in the evening. My reason for not giving it 5 stars was the location of our room. This hotel very nicely provides a game room with a pool table and a ping pong table. Unfortunately, our room was closest to the game room. The stated hours of the game room are 10am-10pm, but those rules were not enforced and we were woken early in the morning and late at night by the sounds of pool balls hitting each other. Breakfast buffet each morning was great. Make sure you try the calafate jelly - it is delicious! If you are looking for a beautiful view and a stay at a hotel with friendly staff, this is the place for you.

Excellent. The hotel is very nice and located opposite the lake. It is far from the center but they have a combi service that leaves the hotel at 12:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00 completely free. The view is beautiful. The service of the employees is fantastic. The restaurant food very rich and have a dish of the day that includes main course + dessert + drink for 18k exquisite.

The tbm foods were very rich and well presented.

The only two "bad" points I have to report is that being too windy the internet signal does not reach the room very well (able with a repeater is solved) and that you can hear quite what happens in the next room.

Taking this out, a show. Recommended 100%

Very good location with an excellent view of the Lake. Don't be afraid of the 7 km to the center, a van leaves punctually every hour to take you and bring you back, it takes 10 minutes and you never run out of space. The rooms are comfortable but you have to be a little on top, something is always missing, either the towels or the soap and they never gave us shampoo. Good breakfast, normal restaurant prices and excellent service. A special mention for Daniela, I think her name is (a girl who studies medicine), very nice, very willing in everything, she had a very nice gesture with us.

We had to stay at this hotel because it was booked as part of our tour. When we checked in the hotel seemed nice. It is located by a nice lake and has good views of the city at night. However once we started to explore the hotel we realized it’s shortcomings. The first lunch on the day we arrived was a disaster. We were the only people in the restaurant but had to wait more than an hour for the food. When it finally arrived the food was overcooked with no salt and no taste. The hotel is relatively far from the city center. They do provide shuttle transportation once every hour but most of the time we had to take taxi as the timing was not convenient. The hotel provided WiFi but it just doesn’t work. You have wait 10 minutes to open a simple email making you feel you are in the 90s. We tried to research where to go for dinner but gave up because of the slow speed of the network. They say they have a gym but you have to see it to believe it- it’s so pathetic. We were there for New Year’s Eve. They had a lobby bar but there was no bartender ! Out travel agency had included dinner for New Year’s Eve but the dinner wouldn’t start until 9.30 PM. We were hungry after a long day and on asking if we could order some appetizers the response was that they are busy and nothing was available until the buffet opened at 9.30 PM! The hotel has potential but it’s sad that customer service is not at all a priority in this place. I would give it 1 star but for the fact that the receptionist was trying her best and that the hotel is closer to the glaciers than the ones in the center of the town .

It is an extraordinary hotel and has all the qualities to be a well-marked 4-star hotel. Unfortunately, it seems that the hotel chooses to cut costs too much and hires cheap labor in places where the experience should be essential such as the reception or the restaurant.
I went with my partner on the long weekend in October.

- At the cleaning level, they did not leave me towels, which was extremely annoying to arrive from all-day excursions and not be able to bathe and have to go look for towels because they did not have the staff to bring them to the room.

- They made a mistake with the reservation for the masseuse, according to another counter-shift girl at reception said that her colleague had made the reservation writing down "45-minute massage for Sunday 10/15" logically by not setting a time my shift was cancelled. The good thing in quotes is that it was canceled for all guests because the masseuse did not show up for work and they did not have a replacement so the spa was conspicuous by her absence.

- Restaurant: the Barrio restaurant is not very neat and lacks staff again, the waitress had to make me a smoothie in the afternoon because the cook was preparing the raw materials for that day at night and couldn't cope.

In short, they have a beautiful hotel, with a truly unbeatable view and the rooms are beautiful, the point is that they lack experience staff and EXTENSIVELY train the ones they already have because if they don't I doubt they can compete being a 4 star As for the other hotels, due to my experience this vacation I consider that they very closely reach 3 stars.

Special mention for Javier, the boy who makes the transfer to and from the center. He is an extremely professional, friendly boy and I think what I found most about the hotel was his service. It's the only one they should really keep.

Overall the Hotel was nice but when we first checked in the room they assigned to us was facing the dusty parking lot with no view whatsoever except the cars. When asked to be moved to another room, the morning reception person would only give us another room at an addition US $20 per night. The hotel did not appear to be fully booked so we surprised at this request but reluctantly agreed. Upon checking out, the same morning receptionist, she charged us twice for the bottles of water we consumed and in our rush to get the taxi did realize this unit l later. Other than the morning Reception person our stay was good. On the contrary, the evening Reception was much more helpful and pleasant.

This hotel is some way out of the town. Approximately one and a half hours walk but there is a bus service starting at mid day. The positives first. Lovely views of lake, staff mostly attentive but sometimes difficult to make ourselves understood in English. Good food in restaurant for dinner. Not so good for breakfast. The negatives. The “gym” is not a gym. Home style treadmill with no elevation, two bikes, upright not working. A few very light weights. Room was very poor. No soundproof, you could literally hear every word from the room next to ours and certainly knew when they used the bathroom! Beds basic and uncomfortable. One very thin pillow. We had to put cushions under it and still uncomfortable. No hairdryer in our room. No plug for bath. Towels thin and torn. Very basic amenities and no shower gel. No kettle in room. Finally the checkout time is 10am but we were not informed of this. Had a phone call at ten past to ask where we were. They seemed angry with us. There is a very small notice at the reception desk that was not drawn to our attention when we checked in.

From the reception by Hugo on arrival to my last minute at this hotel the service, design, appointments and people were of the finest quality. The breakfast is varied and ample while the meals are delicious. Slightly out of the madness of downtown, this elegant hotel offers free parking to the car traveler. Great value and service.

At the top of the mountain overlooking Lake Argentino, a place to relax, go for a run or ride a bike (the hotel offers it) by the lake.
Large, clean rooms, with a breathtaking view.
A relaxing silence.
Very variable breakfast, there is a lunch and dinner option. There is a small shop with personal items and drinks.
Transfer to the center, round trip, free of charge.

We loved staying at Edenia Punta Soberana. We are very particular about cleanliness and this hotel pleasantly surprised us. The location is a little less than ideal, but the Hotel offers a free transfer service to the center of Calafate. Very kind and friendly staff, helpful.
