José and Aida's attention made our stay so enjoyable in spite of the issues we were having with our cards. The location is so convenient just in front of the main square and our room had a great view to San Francisco church and the mountains. The hotel style is a beautiful vintage-colonial. And we were gladly surprised with the... More

From minute one, when we made the reservation, this was a great experience. Quick and clear communication with the hotel, it's perfectly located right on the central plaza. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and when we decided to extend it by two days, they gave us the same promotional rate, even though they didn't have to.... More

From the moment we entered the hotel we were charmed by the reception, by the atmosphere and by the building. The personnel is takes care of you in a discrete way. The lounges, the little juliette balcony of our room, the breakfast room, the elevators, situated at the main square 9 de julio. Breakfast with fresh fruit, home made fruit... More

Very very charming building with quaint rooms and lounges. Location on main square is unbeatable. If you need modern amenities and large rooms, look elsewhere. If you want to feel like you've stepped back in time with juliette balconies, 1920s lifts and grand high ceilings, then this is the place for you. Great service at the front desk too. Breakfast... very nice old and charming hotel, as its name says : colonial style. The single rooms are very small but comfortable, breakfast is ok on argentinian or chilian standards but bad compare with Brazil : no fresh fruit juice, no egg, etc... but the staff is helpful and location very practical with plenty restaurants nearby and places to visit.

From the moment we entered the place it felt and consequently you felt a little special. Common leisure and eating areas are lovely and easily accessible. Some of the art work can perk up almost any tired conversation. The historic and period nature of the building is sensed everywhere and, most importantly, it's well maintained. Customer service is gracious but... More

We loved our stay at this hotel. If you like new and shiny you probably won't like it but it was a really pretty place. The hotel is super clean with comfy beds, nice size rooms, good breakfast, great wifi and it has an excellent location. There are also loads of nice places to eat close by.

This hotel is located at the main square of Salta, which is it's main plus. Other plusses are that the beds are comfortable, the breakfast looks superfluous, and the WiFi is well functioning. It is there since the 1940s, and it looks like it hasn't been renovated since... ;-) As there was only a superior room available for one night... More

We had a beautiful 2 person bedroom w/ an extra bed for 1100Pesos a night (Nov.14). Clean and cute hotel, nice decor. Very friendly staff, breakfast was ok. Only negativ point: Its pretty noisy, since you are in the middle of the city. Positive: You're right next to Plaza 9 de Julio w/ loads of cafes, bars, rests.

My wife and I walked into the Colonial at 11pm without a reservation and ended up staying 3 nights. We had a lovely room with a small balcony. The rooms are old and possibly a little tired, but clean and comfortable. The hot water etc worked perfectly. Wifi was good and worked in the room. The breakfast had no cooked... More
