This hotel is in tremendous disrepair, not maintained, and has definitely seen better days. The staff is unfriendly, never smiles, and all of them act like they would rather not be there. Rooms are clean, but everything is old and tired. This may have been a great resort at one time, but not anymore. The bartender was never there and you had to look for him to get a drink or towels. The food quality was poor and the service in the restaurant was very slow except for Lucas who was great. I would not stay here when there are many other choices and better quality hotels in the area.

La Reserva is a gem in the middle of the jungle near Iguacu Falls, Cataratas, Argentina. The staff was incredibly helpful when our original itinerary had to change due to flight delays, and very helpful in general! They provided local information, suggestions, taxi service, and were very friendly and warm. Our room was lovely and clean with very soft bedding and linens. The pool and grounds were incredible! We loved our stay here very much. Other reviewers have complained about language barriers - you are in a Spanish speaking country! Know some basic Spanish when you arrive. If you don't know Spanish, use a translator app. One observation about the restaurant - the food can be quite good, but it will take a while to arrive. Again, you are in Latin America, the pace of life is slower. Be patient, have a caipirinha by the pool or a glass of delicious Argentian wine while you wait for food to arrive.

Location in the rainforest was lovely. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent as was pasta dinner the first night. Dinner the second night was passable, chicken was dry. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Power went out a couple of times with rain storm, took a while for generator to kick in.

Let me start by saying that my daughter and I arrived late because our plane was delayed. When we arrived we were met by the nicest young lady you could image, Mixel. She went above and beyond to make our entire stay perfect. She was warm and patient when we attempted to speak Spanish. Mixel was so helpful too. She helped us with EVERYTHING. We need a taxi to see the Brazilian side of the falls. She took care of it and told us what to expect with regard to traveling into Brazil. The next day, Mixel helped us with an excursion to the Argentinian side of the falls, including the boat ride. She also helped us with a Horseback ride through the jungle. To say she was amazing would be an understatement. Now to the hotel, pool and restaurant itself. The hotel is gorgeous, set in the middle of the jungle with terrific wooden paths throughout. Lots of wildlife including frogs, lizards, birds and of course bugs. The room was gorgeous with a lovely comfortable bed, nice bathroom and a screen enclosed porch and hammock. Really fantastic room. The pool was likewise terrific. Very clean, warm, and a nice pool bar. The restaurant was just ok. Some dishes were better than others. But the proximity to the town is great – quick and easy taxi rides and you’ll find some amazing food at AQVA. The only issue we had, was the taxi driver we had that took us to the Argentinian side of the park – and the following day, to the airport. He was terrible. I did not get his name unfortunately. He was rude (unlike Oscar who took us to Brazil – who was amazing)… he demanded we pay him in advance and would not accept any of our US Dollars. I understand that parts of Argentina are very strict about US currency, but he was ridiculous. One minute saying a $5 was perfect, then saying it wasn’t. On the way to the airport he demanded money upfront, refused all of our bills, so we had to go to ATM (which are so outrageously expensive and only give you $15,000 pesos). He took us to an ATM, demanded we pay $16,000 pesos (added $6,000 for the extra stop to get the money he was demanding), argued with us, and finally I was able to come up with pesos and US dollars he was demanding. He was the only rude person we met during our entire time in Argentina including Buenos Aires. If I had had the time, and was not rushed to catch a flight (which we made while they were already boarding), I would have left the taxi and got another one.

If you don't speak Spanish you're going to have a difficult time understanding anyone who works here. Especially if you'd like to know more about activities in the area. We speak Spanish, so we were fine, but noticed the other guests were flustered. I enjoyed hanging out at the pool and bar, the number of areas to sit was extremely limited so you were lucky if you found an area to sit at the pool. Breakfast was good/average and the area surrounding the hotel is really interesting. You're in the jungle, so there were a lot of bugs around, this didn't bother us. The highlight was the really cute black and white cat that hung around the property. I'd go back to see the cat, but I don't think I'd stay here again. We also heard the restaurant staff was terrible, so we didn't attempt lunch or dinner here to avoid the frustration.

We had a very nice stay at Virgin Lodge, the property features a swimming pool, a bar, massage area and restaurant. We had a suite with a nice balcony area and the beds were super comfortable. The breakfast was good and the service for lunch was great, Victor helped us get a nice table by the bar and guided us through the menu, he gave us a very warm welcome to the property. Rodrigo and Santiago were also super helpful and always had a smile. We enjoyed our stay and the easiness to get a taxi into town for dinner. Thanks Laura and Charlie

so starting , I would like to highlight the place, it is excellent to relax and forget all the routine. the restaurant was good despite the delay but according to what was expected, we were in a superior room (AVA) very nice by the way, but the biggest problem we had was at the reception. We had to wait many times because the guy who spoke English was going to carry the luggage of the arriving guests and none of the 2 girls at the reception knew how to answer our questions, Cesar if I remember correctly, always very cordial and polite but we always had to face a delay because of the language problem. other than that everything was fine, and the same guy was the one who helped us with the reservations and everything else we asked for. and also Mauricio, the guide who does the bike tours, who helped us with thefelix`s tour, the guarani guide. we loved everything about his culture and the hotel. we will definitely come back and hope to see you soon!

For a hotel ill-advisedly relying on guests using QR codes for everything from dinner reservations to taxi booking, the poor and frequently unavailable wifi was beyond exasperating. But our room was spacious and clean, and relatively quiet, with mosquito nets. The bath was relaxing (although took a while to fill). The restaurant served good food, although the staff seemed a little uncertain about pretty much everything. The breakfast buffet was good. The sign by the pool warning of electric shocks during rain was not reassuring. The taxi service recommended by reception is apparently connected to the hotel, and is more expensive than other local taxi providers. The complimentary guided walk along the national park service road was interesting, and the local Gurani guide knowledgeable and charming.

This review is more related to restaurant than rooms. If we ignored restaurant issues this place would be three star. We were in room 506. It was fine. Dry with just a bit of musty smell (nothing like what we read from some reviews). Cleaning staff efficient. Plenty of hot water. A/C worked very well. No coffee or tea in rooms and only available after 7am when restaurant opens. The restaurant has an okay breakfast buffet that is included in the rate. Open from 7-10am. Lunch menu okay and service from lunch staff decent. The rub comes at dinner time. Service was awful. Among the worst we’ve ever encountered. Took forever to get someone to take our orders. I would say the food is pretty good when it does arrive so kitchen staff not the problem. After three nights we couldn’t take it any more so we tried room service. Marginally better as we did not have to watch the wait staff saunter around and lean on counter. For our last night we placed room service order at 7pm. Waited an hour and a half before food finally arrived. Given the property is fairly far from other dining leaving to do dinner elsewhere not a great option unless guests have a car (we didn’t). I would also say the reception area is very insufficient. But, a new structure was being built while we were there. If used as new reception that could help with crowding issues. We would not stay here if we return to Puerto Iguazu.

The hotel is in a lovely setting and from the outside looks great. However our experience at La Reserva Virgin Lodge was hugely disappointing. It started when our flights changed a number of weeks before we were due to stay, meaning that we could only stay one night when we had originally booked two. We put in a request through Booking.com to cancel the extra night which the hotel refused, meaning that we ended up paying for 2 nights when we only stayed one. When we challenged this at check-in the hotel told us that because the booking was through Booking.com they couldn't cancel the one night - patently untrue. We needed to make arrangements for the one day we were staying in Iguazu regarding lifts to the falls, moving our bags, getting us over the border to Brazil (with bags) and ultimately to the airport in Brazil. The hotel ignored our first 2 messages and finally unhelpfully replied that we could book a taxi when we arrived. Clearly they hadn't bothered to read the detail of what we needed. We ended up sorting this out through a very helpful travel agent who we contacted direct. Our room was poor. The aircon was so loud with random noises every now and then, which meant that there was no possibility of sleeping with it on. Also there was a really bad smell in the bathroom. We arrived late-ish so went to the restaurant for a quick meal, After having to send back the first lot of food because it wasn't what we ordered, the correct food was poor. Tough tasteless meat and cold french fries. All in all, very poor..
