We stayed here for a one night stop off at Barreal. Lovely old building with lots of character but well furnished and very comfortable. It was a peaceful haven just to relax and to appreciate the beautiful views of the Andes. Friendly host Ricardo is a real gent and very informative and all the staff attentive. Lovely garden although pool...

We really like Barreal. We were here, at the Posada, 7 years ago and it hasn’t changed. We even had the same room, with the kiva style fireplace, to keep us cozy. Wandering around the estancia is very relaxing. For us, a highlight was hiking in nearby quebradas and looking back to see stunning views of Barreal below and snow-capped...

The Hotel is in Barreal and not in Calingasta, I have been going since 1990 and the place is wonderful but still needs some improvements. Wonderfull pool and garden where to relax. The hotel is very clean, simple and basic, no technology at all. It´s a very old house that belonged to the "Estancia El Leoncito", a typical ranch of...

When we were there the place was managed by a young french couple who were not gone stay much longer - but since the place exists for more than 10 years I guess the owner will cope. The rooms were a bit expensive for what it was, but the garden and the friendly service did all that was needed. The...

I stayed at the posada during 2 weeks and really enjoyed my stay! The posada has a nice swimmingpool, diningroom, horses, small tennis court and beautiful and big garden. It's near to a lot of amazing nature with even a national park and lots of fun stuff to do. The owner, Ricardo, is helpful and friendly and makes your stay...

When we entered through the gate and drove up to Posada San Eduardo we hoped that it was as good as it looked. But, too bad, in this case appearances are deceptive. Barreal is not a small or remote town, but staff did not speak English at all, just a few words. The room was spacious but basically furnished, the...

We had 2 nights here which we had chosen to have a base near(ish) to Aconcagua. It was not on our agents list of recommended places to stay but...we would recommend it. It was a long drive on some dirt roads but really gave us a feel for a less touristy and more rural area. Our room was spacious and...

Posada San Eduardo is a wonderful place with outstanding, virtually gourmet dinners in a beautiful dining room, plus it has charming rooms, a peaceful pool, and the rooms are built around a charming courtyard. The owner speaks excellent English and is very helpful. For a person with a vehicle this is a five-star stop but it's out of the way...

A hidden gem in Barreal Argentina. Beautiful setting in the valley with mountains all around. Room was very nice with a fireplace . All rooms open up into a lovely courtyard. Food is served outside in their lovely grounds near the swimming pool. Very relaxing. Staff speaks Spanish only but we were able to communicate with our very limited knowledge...

We came across the Posada at dusk and were happy they had availability. The room was very spacious and comfortable but the bathroom had very limited lighting. We opted to head into town for dinner, however a dinning room was available. Upon waking the next day we enjoyed breakfast outside in the beautiful garden and then were on our way.
