Tango de Mayo was an excellent experience on a trip in 2019, and it is still great. Stayed two times during our Argentina-holiday. Excellent value. The hotel has a perfect location with a metro just outside, and it is stylish both outside, in the lobby/restaurant and in the rooms. Both our rooms were very nice, the last time probably a free upgrade to an even bigger room. Very good and large bed, quiet air-condition. Nice bathroom. Only remark: rooms x04 has a thin wall between the room and the bathroom, so sounds from the bathroom is easily heard in the room. Breakfast was just ok, quite standard for Argentinian 3- and 4-star hotels. It was less good than in 2019, several items were ‘missing’, eg. bacon/sausage. I missed some sanitizer at the buffet or tables, though there were one at the entrance. Roof top bar with nice views and extremely large staff. But stupid that some tables were reserved for eating, as this is basically a bar with snack food. We had to move to another table, even though there were not many guests. Lack of conduit. Front desk staff were excellent in helping with all kind of tourist-inquirers. Hope to come back.…
We stayed at the Tango de Mayo in November--truly a find. The decor, the staff, the breakfast--perfect for a couples stay. We loved our room--very quiet. Started with drinks at Dome on the roof - perfect way to start our trip--you can see all the beautiful Buenos Aires archeticture. We were able to walk to the Opera House. Would stay here again.
Beautiful boutique hotel. Staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. We stayed here for 3 nights before going on a cruise. The location was walking distance to tourist locations. We were able to easily access the hop on / hop off tour bus.
The hotel is in the heart of the city and literally next door to Palacio Barolo. Room was small but bathroom was spacious. Both were confortable and very clean! WiFi worked very good too. Breakfast was excellent, and they even do expresso or latte coffees at the moment. They have a very nice rooftop bar (Dome) where locals go to (hotel’s front desk need to let people in) and it’s a very nice bar with great view (see photos). When you check in they give you a ticket for complimentary drink. They have laundry service but it’s very expensive. There’s a DIY laundry at 2-minute walking distance that is way cheaper and won’t take too much time off your day.
We stayed here on the final two nights of our 9 night vacation to Argentina, and totally loved it. It's in a great location! The front desk staff was super helpful, and the hotel just has an overall luxurious feel. The lobby is beautiful and the breakfast was great. But the best part of this hotel was the bed!!! The most comfortable bed of our whole trip (and even better than our bed at home...haha). The room had a city view, a great bathroom, and a strong A/C unit (BA is humid!!). The overall tango theme of the hotel is very fitting. They also have a rooftop bar called the Dome that serves drinks and food Thurs, Fri, Sat evenings and it's a must. Great food and drinks...and great views!
Nicely decorated rooms and other spaces in “tango style”. Walking distance to Plaza Mayo and good restaurants nearby. Loved the roof terrace! Nice relaxing with a drink in the shadow after a day of sightseeing. Helpful and English speaking receptionists. Recommended!
Close to the Congreso, it couln't be more central. The building is part of Palacio Barolo, a historical monument, and it actually exudes a historic feel. The rooms are gorgeous and the whole hotel is atmosppheric.
A two night stay here was a pleasure. We were upgraded to a larger room on arrival, a welcome surprise. Throughout our stay the staff at the front desk were polite and all so halpful. The room was comfortable a very clean. Breakfast in Zorzal, the hotel restaurant, was very good. Not 5 star but enjoyable. If I were to return to Buenos Aires I would consider returning to the Tango de Mayo Hotel.
The staff here are very pleasant, the colorful walls and feeling of the whole place is warm and inviting. Food in the dining room is delicious; and breakfast is quite varied. For sure, try the medialunas--YUM! Internet was acceptably fast.
We had two stays on a recent trip. Rooms were large, quiet, clean and reasonably priced. The front desk was very helpful in arranging tours for us. The only failings were that the restaurant was not very good and the drinks at the rooftop bar seemed anemic. The hotel is in easy walking distance to many places and is on a metro line.
