We chose this hotel for its location. It's centrally located and within walking distance of many sites. The people working at the front desk were all very nice and helpful. The rooms (bedrooms and bathroom) were old and obviously not taken care of. The walls had peeling paint and wallpaper and holes where there had been something attached at one point. The walls in the bathroom had black spots near the ceiling which looked like mold. The window frames looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. When it rained there was a lot of loud dripping noise, especially from rain hitting an old room air conditioner that no longer worked but was still in place. The last day we were there the towels left in the bathroom were frayed and had holes in them.

The hotel is centrally located in Buenos Aires, close to restaurants and transportation. The room was huge and with great air conditioner. It included continental breakfast. The wireless wifi was not the best. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They also have issues with the elevators. OK for the money paid.

The hotel is old, it needed a renovation 20 years ago at least. The floors are damaged, bathroom looks terrible (broken tiles, shower leaves the floor totaly soaked), walls damaged. The bedrooms were old apartments, with a bunch of rooms with old furniture. Pillows are disgusting as well the bedspread. Breakfast is ok, just the basic so you don’t have to look for a place to eat first thing in the morning. Service is ok as well, Argentina is not a place that you will get a good service overall. The hotel is close to Calle Sarniento, but you will have to walk at least 10 blocks to get to the busy area. I don’t recommend, for the same price or a bit more you can get something better and closer to everything.

Came as part of a group. Half the group had to change rooms because of mold and/or bug sitings. Already written about unacceptable Internet -- desk clerk actually gave me password for hotel next door. Channel changers didn't work and front desk didn't have batteries. Bad master bed. Disgusting refrigerator. Second bedroom in a triple little more than a prison cell. Had better breakfast in a hostel. Most staff have no interest in guests. Apparently this hotel is in deep decline, our group leader went scouting for a different location for next time.

This Hotel is just like Argentina! one day is one price an other day is another price totally chaotic and at the front desk, completely unexpected, depending on who is helping you! They have no idea to respect their returning customers and i will definitely recommend book through this site or another site so that the local personnel at the front desk does not mess up the prices with no common sense! The breakfast is mediocre and the service for it VERY VERY BAD. But you may not need them at all if you are lucky. The wifi is not up to par. All and all you are in a 50/50 chance ...can be a reasonable value or a terrible one. If you have the proper price it is worth it and we are upset that they mess up in a stupid way.

I come to buenos Aires 4 x a year for business. I usually stay at the Intercontinental. It has been too expensive. I love Lyon. People are awesome and good price. Area is nice, banks nearby, Cervantes restaurant is good, easy for taxis. Overall great value.

The staff, service and quality of the Hotel Lyon on Riobamba in Redoleta was superb. We were given a 3 room suite with marble floors and an excellent view to the city for about $80 USD nightly during our 28 day stay. We wanted for nothing. Helpful staff catered to our needs and their suggestions regarding the tango show and which restaurants to visit made the trip very rewarding. They truly were our hosts. I will without doubt book the Hotel Lyon for an extended 3 month visit next year.

This hotel was definitely a budget friendly hotel. The rooms were minimal, but clean (at least mine was). There were nicely sized for suites. Wifi was spotty depending on where your room was located. The breakfast was okay, but nothing great. The hotel was extremely secure with the staff locking the doors at night and remaining locked until early morning. It was in a great location.
