We chose a medium sized room after finding their website, had high expectations but these were quickly quashed. The bathwater came back up the drainage in the bathroom so we were offered a small room for the small room price. Unacceptable customer service in my eyes so I pointed out that also the wi-fi didin't work in our room (another...

I booked two nights and arrived a day earlier. The day I arrived was a weekday and I expected to pay the same or at least a little more because I had no reservation. They made no mention of my rate until I checked out and it was 50% more than the other nights. I didn't like this at all!!!!...

It's true, the location can't be beat, but I'd have to agree with the reviews that characterize Five Cool Rooms as a glorified hostel. The basic rooms are microscopic, with barely any space to open a suitcase. The cleanliness was not in line with what I had read about: dirty toilet (perhaps someone partied too hard the night before for...

This Hotel was nice, and in a great location. But dont let the location alone fool you into staying there. There are plenty of other hotels in this trendy area. Five cool rooms was just ok. It was not at all how it was presented in their website. The price too i felt was too much for what i too...

The perfect location in Palermo! everything in walking distance, great shopping and excellent restaurants. Hotel has a very nice and relax atmosphere. The rooms are perfect, we stayed in a medium room, fantastic beds and bathroom. Breakfast is on the rooftop terrace and is great. The people who work here are very friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended!

Great location right in the heart of Palermo. Fantastic staff full of local knowledge and very eager to help. All in all a fantastic place to stay in a brilliant city."

We stayed here while in B.A. recently. Using their awesome website as a reference point, the hotel was a deception. Four years into it and it's already looking tired and they need to repaint many of the walls (visible dirt and skidmarks, for example). The general feel is one of a hostel but with hotel prices. This wasn't worth USD...

Great hotel with a fabulous location... you really can't get any better if you want to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, nightlife and fun that BA has to offer. My only complaint was that achingly cool is great - however that meant the staff sometimes seemed a little disinterested. It wasn't that they were unfriendly, they were just, well a bit...

We have stayed at Five Cool Rooms twice, the second time in November 2008 for eight nights. It is one of the best locations for shopping and going out, though Palermo is far from downtown and other sights in BA. Taxis are still cheap, so it is not too much of an issue. Both times we stayed in a medium...

We stayed here in March '09 and loved it. The location is excellent for taking in the Palermo SOHO neighborhood. The rooms are totally cool and stylish. The rooftop terrace offers beautiful a perspective to the area, the lobby is fun, and staff is very helpful.

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
