Well, I'm sure she did just like George Washington slept nearly everywhere in Washington DC! The people were the very best thing about our stay in Buenas Aires and in the Melia Recolleta Plaza. After arriving by cruise line and by a wild taxi ride to the hotel property, we were immediately greeted by Alan who seems to be both Doorman and Get-Everything-Done Man. In fact all their front end people are incomparable. The front-desk professional quickly moved through our reservation and even though it was before 11:00am she had a room for us! For a moment let's talk about the room. It was large and quiet even though above the busy street. Only issue was the mattress ... it was pretty sorry. That said, the staff was great. Slower of pace than I'd imagined but extremely accommodating. We had an all-day adventure planned for the next day as well as an international flight back to the USA so I asked the staff if we would be able to use the Spa when we return from our tour in order too clean up even though we had officially checked out. It seemed to absolutely be no issue. And it was so amazingly great to come back to the hotel after a visit to an estancia and to be able to clean up prior two our flight. It was so nice of them to do that. Now I wish I could remember the young lady's name at the front desk when we checked it but she was the one that assured we would be able to use the Spa. Alan and Thomas were above and beyond great in terms of helping using an out as well as assisting in planning. None of our travel electric connecters work in the hotel so Alan brought us 1 that allowed us to power up all of our electronic devices. Thomas was always available in the late afternoon and evenings. Thomas became quite concerned that the Uber we'd ordered for transport to the international airport might be too small for our bags but he worked to confirm that the size of the vehicle was going to be fine. But he and the front-end gentleman on the evening shift seemed prepared to get us to the airport on time AT ALL COSTS. They wanted to make sure our visit was as perfect as it could be. So again, Alan, Thomas and the young lady running check-in on Feb. 27 were FABULOUS!…
This truely small elegant Boutique Hotel at Recoletas famous Posadas Ave. is very cosy and nice.Guests can choose to book individual Rooms or Suites. All are nicely furnished with antique style furnitures and original persian carpets. As my stay now in November was already a revival from January and February earlier this year I had the chance to experience earlier a so far not newly renovated Suite 72 (2nd elevator) and this time 84 (1.elevator).Frankly both are elegant stylish and most comfortable.Newly renovated Suite had additionly 2 double sized LED smart TV screans and new flooring.I also got to see Rooms which are definitely very sufficient in size for single travelers and couples.Breakfast in this Hotel is served in a lower basement floor (2.elevator part). There is sadly no daylight but the nice life played jaaz music does compensate everybody instead. The Hotel staff of this property is very friendly and know each guest. This incluedes the Bell boys and at the Reception in particular the younger Team Ms.Mara and Mr.Andres truely care and assist you whenever needed.I appreciated the privacy and safety of this Hotel additionaly.I can from my side truely recommend this Hotel for people who give priority for same values as me.…
The Doorman at this hotel is so helpful and kind. The rooms comfortable and the hotel has all the charm of a boutique hotel. Loved the small oczy bar in the lobby and the food at breakfast was amazing. A+++++
What a lovely surprise. The adorable quiet hotel in the most glamorous part of Buenos Aires. We arrive well before check in and they gladly found us a room so we could take a quick shower and a nap. The room included a lovely breakfast ( really good) and two drinks at the hotel lobby bar. We truly enjoyed every minute here and we’re especially taken with Mara at the front desk who was perfect in every way. We are staying with them again after disembarking a cruise. So glad we found this hotel.
We cannot speak highly enough of Francisco and the Team at Melia Recoleta. An early transfer from our cruise ship was not an issue and we were able to access our room immediately upon checking in. Francisco was absolutely charming in recounting the history of the hotel and its place in the story of Eva Peron. Every assistance was extended to secure a tour of the city and surrounding areas, and in booking a prime seat for a wonderful tango show. The hotel is really lovely and the breakfast room and breakfast itself was outstanding. Our only disappointment was our stay did not coincide with the jazz evenings- an excuse to come back!
À hôtel with character and history (former house of Eva Peron). Great location in a trendy neighborhood. Nice breakfast with piano player and jazzy atmosphere. Located in Récolta near the museum of Bela Artes, the cemetery of Recoleta. Many choices of restaurants around.
We arrived early to our hotel after landing from international flight. Contacted front desk prior to arrival for airport transfers and other questions. They were very helpful and responsive. Concierge helped arrange city tour as well. Great service all the way around. We had no idea that Evita lived I the building in 1940s. Great experience and would recommend. Beautiful area of Buenos Aires.
The location is great as it is near to many places we planned to visit on our first part of the trip. The staff are nice and available. The rooms size was good as well as overall the facilities. We were promised that we would have the early check when we called before booking the dates. However, on our arrival early in the morning, the room was not available which was a pity as we had a very long flight. Nevertheless, the were offered to use the spa area to refresh and change so we could go out and explore the city. The breakfast needs some improvement in terms of the variety of the vegan options and coffee, it is a shame that in a hotel of Melia a more decent coffee during the breakfast comes at extra charge. Overall, the hotel felt a little worn and needs some better maintenance.…
This hotel is perfect for someone who doesn't want the typical chain hotel. The bar was fun and hotel is very quiet. The rooms were incredible and fun! Evita used to live here so that was fun too! You could walk to many places and not have to take a cab. Super cool!
The same accounting system that charged me U$S 55 for two coffees and two croissants, charged me U$S 200 extra for my stay. The bill they gave me (attached) shows their "method" (or lack thereof). And yet, I felt sorry for the employee who had to give me that ridiculous bill, bring down my bags, and check my room for "damage" (see other reviews). She was alone to deal with everything and obviously it was not her fault. She couldn't explain the items in the bill. Who is responsible for these messes? It damages the reputation of a Melia hotel that should have 5 stars.
