We booked the hotel over the net based on photos & price. Once we arrived the lobby looked good & we expected the same from the rooms. Unfortunately the rooms were bad, very small & looked like there hasn't been an update since the 70's. If you like no frills then this is the right hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. My room had a double bed, colour tv, nice bathroom. Breakfast was great (croissants, fruit, dulce de leche, toast, butter, cheese, ham etc) The staff at the reception is very helpful and friendly. The location is safe and very close to all the main attractions in Buenos Aires. I wasn't too sure about the Embajador, but all my fears proved to be wrong. I do recommend this hotel.

My husband, daughter and I strongly disliked this hotel. The mattresses were extraordinarily uncomfortable - they were tired and worn and the springs all but poked through their cover. The rooms were shabby and in dire need of renovation. Wallpaper and rugs were old and dirty. On the positive side, the staff was pleasant and accommodating, the rooms were cleaned well by housekeeping, and the buffet breakfast was perfectly fine. The lobby and dining areas were fine. As well, the location of this hotel was quite good.

Very nice hotel staff, but Martin (tall & blondish) speaks the best English. They'll phone in reservations, call for taxis, and assist in booking tours. All very willing to help in any way, including maids (no English). Internet is free to use anytime. Will store luggage free when you have an evening departure. Breakfast is usual European fare, plus yogurt, 3 dry cereals, strong coffee, juices and fresh fruit. Place is clean from top to bottom; never saw a bug anywhere and carpet looks new. English TV on 8 channels. Plenty of hot water and big towels, even a phone in bath. Good central location: 8 blocks from Obelisk, 4 to American Express Building, 8 to Pacifica Galleria and Teatro Colon. All tours pick up and deliver right in front of the door. Noise from the street

We stayed here for a night on both ends of our trip to Iguazu. It was a nice place. The rooms were a little small, but since you are in BA, you shouldn't spend too much time in the room, there is so much to see! The staff was helpful, cabs were easy to get, the internet service was free and fast. The location was nice, walking distance to lots of sights and shopping. It was safe, the door is locked and the front desk has to open it for you. We also safely stored luggage there for a week. You can hear some of the traffic in your room, but it wasn't loud enough to really be disturbing. The bathrooms were clean and the showers had hot water! It had a nice breakfast spread and they brought in a big-screen plasma TV for the World Cup! We would stay there again.
