Once i get in to the room where no pillows, no air conditioner (in november... almost summer!) No internet signal in the room... and the concierge may had a bad night or day because was little bit rude...
Very beautiful hotel situated in the heart of the city. Lots of events happening around it. Rooms are very luxurious and spacious. Staff is very friendly and speaks English very well. Did not use all of the facilities and can not comment on them. Food is great.
After check in we changed room because of wifi problems. Got a bigger room with the same Internet problems... clean enough with basic amenities. The buffet was Continental...sweets, sugar, cakes, some slices of ham, cheese, coffee, tea, juice and fruit salad in orange juice. No eggs for two weeks..Outside temperature of 4 degrees, we had very cold wind coming in from a window that didn't close properly. I folded a paper and put it under the latch, to tighten it to the frame. As it got colder, it is their winter still, we found the heating not working. Service guy said they needed two days to open the wall to repair whatever burned out. Got a temporary fix. When we turned the control on there was a very loud noise, so it got turned it off. The blanket supplied looked disgusting. We were finally offered another room supposedly without Internet problems, we had three more day to go and so fed up, we decided to just stay. I my brought my iPad along so I would save the cost of long distance calls home and text...even in the lobby it was a spotty signal. We got charged for local calls. Only plus for this hotel is the central location, you can pretty much walk everywhere and the Subte (subway) is a block away, buses at the door. Worst part, was too late finding the towels that my hubby used to wipe the floor were refolded and used unknowingly. The sign said if you want to re-use towels to hang them up, these were on the floor. Two days in a row the maid "forgot" to leave them, waited most of the day for them. Practically no English spoken by the desk staff...…
Tried to use the wifi in my room, but it was near impossible. Came on for a minute, then off for ten. Went down to lobby several times to express my frustration but was not rectified in any way. The room itself wasn't that bad, bad the servicing left a lot to be desired.
Checked in late at night, Tienda Lion airport transfer dropped me off at the door. Reception was available. The carpets were stained in many places. Wallpaper was stained in places and peeling. Furniture was dented or peeling in places. The bed was comfortable. Pillows were average. Bathroom was fine. TV was old 51 cm with cable. Free Wi Fi worked best when I sat next to the front door of my room! Thank god for the AC as BA is humid! Breakfast was ok, yogurt, juice, breads, cheese, ham and dry or overly sweet cakes, The best bit was breakfast was served on the roof top so there were views. Some receptionists spoke good English. Location was near a Subte (subway) station and shops off two main roads. The street itself was a bit seedy. Opposite a carefour supermarket. La Americana down the road serves thick 'pizza pies' and is a popular local chain. Overall, you could easily find something better, I allowed my travel agent to bundle this into my trip as I didn't have much time. If you just want to sleep, shower, grab a bite at breakfast and escape to do sight seeing this place is OK.…
