Nestled in the walkable and safe Puerto Madero district, Faena Hotel Buenos Aires offers guests a mix of opulence and style, particularly noted in its bar and pool area. While the hotel's amenities generally receive high marks, some guests have pointed out service issues.
The rooms are spacious, yet there are remarks about occasional poor maintenance. Despite the high cleanliness standards, the value proposition is debated, with criticisms about overpriced extras and underwhelming meals.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Faena very recently and had a very nice experience. The hotel is located in a great part of Buenos Aires and in a very walkable and safe location – plenty of restaurant choices close-by and for tourists like us, an easy walk to the main part of Buenos Aires. Rooms were great and the check-in was efficient with a sit down with a person – more akin to something you would see in a resort type of a location and not one in the middle of a metropolis.
Zero issues with room cleaning services. The food at Italfast was beyond expectations with excellent quality and taste – we are both vegetarian and their attention to our specific requests was very commendable. I must say that the breakfast at the Mercado was just okay – more “plain” but certainly efficient.
The hotel reached out to us well prior to our stay to enquire about Airport pick-ups and they stayed on top of it as our flights were cancelled three times (ridiculous, I know!).

We were at Faena in August 2024 where we had booked the Porteño suite and were surprised by an upgrade to an absolutely amazing Triplex Tower suite. The Hotel besides absurdly beautiful has a super differentiated and personalized service. Very clean and organized, only the bathroom of the suite is larger than many hotel rooms, besides all coated in arabescato marble, printing luxury and sophistication. Every detail was wonderfully careful, every time we returned to the suite we realized that the cleaning service had passed there again. The night, when we were back in definitive to sleep the bed is done and still left a mim. The restaurant is wonderful, maybe the best meal we had in Buenos Aires and we only went to super indicated houses. It was a unique experience where we were made to feel like kings and queens. More than recommended.

Excellent sensory experience in every way. I highlight the aromas, aesthetics, friendliness and quality of all people who serve guests, comfort and cleanliness of all facilities. Excellent spa service. Excellent breakfast and services in the pool. Suggestion: Improve a detail of the bathroom of the room, a small pool of water is generated at the door of the shower space.

Faena is a beautifully designed and decorated hotel. The decor is very sensual and original. Service used to be excellent. The hotel itself is starting to show a bit of its age. Rugs are in need of updating, some curtains look aged. Service is inconsistent. Your coffee may arrive 30 min after your sandwich. Odd policies result in there not being coffee available before 9am unless you get full breakfast. Only 2 coffee capsules per room per day are delivered, and additional ones are charged (!). You need to ask for things because they don’t happen automatically. You will need to call for water, the A/C to be fixed, and for… additional coffee capsules. I’ve been to Faena five or six times. This one felt like a bad one. When I’m at a luxury hotel, I expect luxury available. That excludes charges for coffee capsules.

We had read reviews on the Tango Show at the Faena and decided to book in and stay. Our time in Argentina was coming to an end and we wanted to finish it on a high note.
The Tango show was fantastic and the 4 course dinner exceeded our expectations. Wine and soft drinks are included which was a pleasant surprise.
The hotel as a Miami vibe, it looks very opulent on entering and the door guys are very keen and want to make sure you are staying on arrival.
Our room was not ready and so we went for a lunch in the El Mercado ( hotel restaurant). Initially the service was good , we ordered starters but didn’t want to rush and asked the waiter to come back after we had had our starters before ordering our main. We ordered fish which was very disappointing and then basically we didn’t see our waiter again. We had to ask another member of staff for the bill and then another to pay. All the young staff were busy talking and no one said anything as we left. Not what we expected from the Faena!
Once past the entrance you soon realize that the Faena is in need of a revamp. The hallways are dingy and unwelcoming.
Our corner suite was spacious, old, in need of fresh paint and it had a peculiar banging noise?
The bedding was fresh and felt nice.
2 complimentary coffee pods, a kettle( no tea),no milk, no bottled water meant we had to ask for more with milk.
The fridge was full of offerings that you could purchase including water!
We had a few incidents that were dealt with quickly and professionally ( tub wouldn’t fill and wifi was poor).
After the show we popped in the hotel bar for a drink ( apparently we needed to book?) but strongly told the waitress that we were staying at the hotel and she politely found us a spot.
The biggest delight was the singer Angela Navarro, Wow she made our night. Absolutely amazing!
It’s a long review but to sum it up.
The rooms are not five star for the price you pay but the Tango Show ( which was $250 each extra) and the Club bar made it a five star experience.

The service is spectacular and strategically located close to everything you have to see when you come to Bs as.
As soon as you arrive you will be greeted with a welcome drink in my case a caipirinha of passion fruit and my boyfriend a banana smoothie, which we take to the pool sector. There they brought us some snacks as a courtesy, while we were in the restrooms. The room is in perfect condition all very workmanlike, extravagant, luxurious, unique and opulent. The shower is excellent, the pillows very comfortable and the space is super comfortable.
The service is very warm and super attentive. You always hear tango in the background, in the afternoon lights start to come on in a New York style and there is super cool in the bars and bars.
From there you can go in a taxi very close (12 minutes) to Recoleta , in 20 to Palermo, in 8 to the Boca , and walking perfectly to endless tourist places:
San Telmo with its iconic market on Sundays, eat at the market on Calle Defensa , walk to the cabildo, Cathedral of Bs As, Casa Rosada, Plaza de Mayo, Avenida De Mayo and walk along Calle Florida to get to know the city of Porteña, until you reach the Galleries Pacifico to buy with Tax Free. Also of course tour Puerto Madero with a gastronomic offer super piola, the levee that is very picturesque, the ecological reserve steps to take a bike ride, and move walking smoothly and with everything in reach. In the hotel you can eat very well and very rich. Breakfast is in the Market in a particular highly aesthetic atmosphere with a mixture of modern and ancient. Depending on where you look, everything comes as a pleasant surprise. The breakfast option is very good, with cheeses , juices yogurts , omelettes, salmon sweet treats , crescents and cafeteria first. The gym is an absolute thousand, there are machines for all parts of the body, all new and in perfect condition. The spa although we did not go, has saunas place of relaxation and a jacuzzi with additional fee. I recommend if you want to ride bikes that you book in advance because we could not get and is great to do it in that area. If you can visit Faena it is certainly an excellent Plan.

A wonderful experience. Very cordiality and warmth in the attention of all those who received us and informed how the hotel system was. And very nice deal with us and guests in general. Mainly Diana -who checked us in-, Fernando who accompanied us to the room and indicated all the movement within it and Santiago who guided us and advised us regarding the delicacies of the dining room, to name a few, since from the entrance to the exit of the hotel all were very gentle, making us feel very careful. Thank you very much.

I always stay in 5-star hotels to get good care and service, but unfortunately this hotel is not worth the price they charge.
The cleaning of the rooms is terrible, the room has a dirty carpet, they didn't clean the bathtub or change dirty glasses that were in the room.
I asked for the food that I brought my son to heat up, I told the time to heat it several times and they overheated it and ruined the food, not even one day was enough, but two days in a row they did this. It is not a “family friendly” hotel, they do not treat children well and do not look at them with patience.
Simply a horrible experience paying a lot.
I don't intend to go back.

We spent a full day enjoying the whole hotel. Very good care of every detail, the attention of each of those who work there was super warm and enjoyable. We really enjoyed the spa, the guided meditation with Tibetan bowls, the spectacularness of the room and its views and the exquisite breakfast. We enjoyed the restaurant and a beautiful show at the bar. We hope to come back soon!

We were meant to have visited pre pandemic and were really excited to finally make it here. However, despite the opulent foyer area, the rest of the hotel is tired and the bar staff and restaurant staff were lack lustre, bordering on complete disinterest.
We were “upgraded” but apart from there being extra space, we were in fact given a disused apartment. The shower had masking tape holding it to the wall, shower curtain hanging off it’s rail, curtains hanging off, no USB ports and extremely poor wifi connectivity. We did alert the reception staff and the door handle and shower holder was repaired.
The service in the room was inconsistent with towels not being replaced, turn down service not being done each evening and shower gel/shampoo not being replenished.
Getting into the Library bar should have been easy as hotel guests, however our room numbers were requested numerous times.
All things considered, the experience was tiring as it is tedious having to request things that should be provided automatically.
If you’re considering a trip to Buenos Aires, do yourselves a favour and look elsewhere.

Dear Maldoc,
If you´re looking for a Jacuzzi bath and a separate Walking Shower, I recommend you to book one of these Suites:
Duplex Suite, Tower Suite, Presidential Suite, Imperial Suite.
Please note that these are the only ones with Jacuzzi Bath in the hotel.
We remain at your entire disposal and we look forward to welcoming you very soon.
Best regards,
You re a lucky man if you had your transfer organised...they completely forgot mine.
I hope tango was good for its ridiculously high price, I enjoyed it elsewhere for a fraction.
Dear Kathleen,
We do offer airport transportation. You can contact our Experience Managers so they can give you the different options.
You can find our contact number in Faena Hotel Buenos Aires ´profile.
Kind regards,
Hi. I have only stayed at Faema once and it was in the actual hotel proper. While doing my research regarding the stay, I discovered that Faema sold a small tower of condos (or at least whatever their version was) right across the street under the Faema brand, and probably some units within the hotel core itself. So I am supposing that these less expensive options are inventory owners not using the rooms are putting into play for prospective guests. So long as you can enjoy the restaurants and pool in the main property 100 feet away, andI believe you can, I am almost certain that this is an excellent option. I almost took the chance with one of those units but decided because of a 2 for 1 price break I got on a standard room, I went traditional route. So in a sense, I guess you can think about your deal is kind of like an Air BnB in the Faena context. Please let me know how it turns out as I am coming back next year and would like to try a less expensive option at Faena. Great location in Puerto Madera i.e. restaurants and shopping. Relatively safe versus other neighborhoods.
Hi. It is the very end of their Fall (opposite season than US) so it will be in the mid to high 50s Fahrenheit. Certainly but freezing but jacket weather and many days cloudy or a little rain. The town is not more crises than usual. It is not my personal favorite time to visit (I tend to like BA when it is warmer) but it is indeed a beautiful place to visit. At least you'll be there for world famous opera and some soccer.
"If you need your room to be cool with working AC, you can't guarantee it here in summer. Otherwise the neighborhood was very safe and cute."Read full review
