The building is old: although the rooms seemed to be restructured, we could see old furniture and bedding... The worst thing that happened to us was th air conditioning: we were above 36 degrees celsius, inside the room it felt like 45oC degrees and the air conditioning didn`t work! We melted at night.
The breakfast was very restricted, but as we were one block away from Calle Florida, we could eat anywhere else. The staff was excellent! Helpful and kind, we loved.

The hotel is supposed to be a 4 star but this hotel is more like a 3 star. Our room was spacious (but very hot - even in Winter!) and a bit dated. The staff are really helpful and the room service was very quick.

We paid 80USD per night and think that we paid too much for the standard of the rooms (so if you can get a cheap deal for this hotel, its not a bad hotel). We would not stay here again if we came to Buneos Aires.

Hi! The hotel is an old building but most hotels in Buenos Aires are like that. The buffet breakfast is small but very good. The service is good too.
The location is excellent! Just 1 block away from Florida street where many stores are located. It's safe even at nights when there is not much people outside.
The rooms are big and have all to be comfortable.
Finally, the price is fair for the hotel!
E-mail me if you need to know something about Buenos Aires.

It's supposed to be 4 stars, but it’s just a 3. Don't waste your money. The room was very noisy and we pay for a king room and they give us a twin. The breakfast is ok.

We had made the reservation weeks before and were given the noisiest (elevator equipment heating unit) and dirtiest room I have ever stayed in. This is not a 4 star hotel. We got out the next day and paid the same amount at a truly 4 star hotel. (Elevage) If you can afford it the Howard Johnson is excellent.

I stayed at this hotel in February of 2007. Here are some of the reasons why I do not recommend anybody staying at this hotel:

1) An Ipod was stolen from my room.
2) When I complained to the manager, he told me that all he could do was offer me a free night's stay on my next trip. (like I would ever stay at this crappy hotel again.)
3) It was summertime, and yet they would not turn on the air conditioning equipment in the hotel's halls, corridor's, and the breakfast / lunch area. Horrible.

Don't make the same mistake I did.

This hotel had construction in front with the inability for a taxi tp get within 50 yards of the front door. The path to walk was about 2 feet wide. I was rhere with my wife and I recently had brain surgery and felt uncomfortable at night walking past all of the datk doorways in an area known for crime. We stayed 2 nights on a 4 night reservation. On the third day we needed to leave and asked to be cerited for the 2 remaining nights. The manager was called and was rude and said it was my problem, as we had a reservation. We left, because we did not feel safe and still want restitution. It was a very dangerous enviornrment and customers should have been made aware of the conditions. Do not stay at the Hotel Tritone in Buenos Aires, for your own well-being.

What a lovely hotel!! We stayed for one night before flying home. They let us in to the room at 10:00 am, where we slept for a bit. The room was 102, a sort of penthouse suite, with a double and two singles, a small sitting room and a small verandah.
It was really clean, though very slightly worn, wifi was good and free, staff had some English and were very helpful indeed. all for $A60 for two
Strongly recommended

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Very spacious, clean but everything was a bit outdated, or overused, specially the bathroom. The faucets and shower worked but were old and lacked water pressure.
Breakfast was great even though the restaurant was under maintenance. Location is great and theres a parking lot with cheap reates right across the street in case you have a car.

o meu quarto também não tinha carpete. Posso falar do financeiro? Entendeu? Qualquer dúvida pode me ligar.

"although our rate did not include a free continental breakfast, we had the breakfast all three days and it was quite nice and at 60 pesos per person the price was right. also, two other non related couples from our cruise ship also stayed here for a few days. good choice for all."

"Not room 84. Seems like a well-worn dorm room with 2 single beds. Like other comments here, you balance the value - so this is still good if you get a great price. Unsure how to judge other rooms, but we also stayed in 101 and it felt like the Penthouse! (I think it was, top floor and walk up a few stairs). Had a sitting area leading up to a room with a queen bed, then an additional room with 2 single beds. Bathroom roughly the same as the other (needs to be torn out and replaced, but clean) - needs a facelift but fully functional. In spite of this large room - one towel was provided. Staff very helpful to accomodate any requests thought."
