We recently stayed at the Marriott Plaza Hotel Buenos Aires for 5 nights using rewards points. Since I am a Platinum member, I did get some additional benefits not provided to some other reviewers such as upgraded rooms and executive lounge access. I have to say that for Marriott hotels, this is by far one the best I've stayed at....

My wife and I stayed here using Marriott Rewards. I like historic hotels but also enjoy big city hotel amentities. This hotel delivers. The location is very centrally located right next to the subway and train station, but definately not in one of the more trendy areas. The workout area is huge for a hotel. There is free wireless in...

We had such a fabulous visit to Buenos Aires. Much of this was due in part to the wonderful staff at the Marriott Plaza in Downtown BA. Let me tell you, this is such a charming place! Their concierge staff was very knowledgeable, warm and truly empowered. We felt so totally "at home", an important trait for those of us...

Located in the center of the city. Very convenient if you want to stroll around Buenos Aires from the hotel. But, the hotel is pretty old and it hasn't been updated much. It was cleanly kept, but my room smelled musty and the water pressure for hot water in the shower was really low. Also, workout equipments were really old...

A cautionary tale - I recently stayed at the Marriott in BA. I must say it is a lovely hotel in a great location. However, please note that my shopping parcels were taken from our room. If you do any shopping in BA, PLEASE take the time to hide your purchases in your suitcase or if possible, secure your items...

In mine third visit of CITY the Buenos Aires I am always looking new experiëncias. The truth that in the two previous times where it stows here I found the Hotels Hilton and excellent Madero Sofitel, what perhaps it has created a bigger expectation on the Florida Marriot. In very good local one in the end of the Florida Calle...

I spent 2 days at this Hotel in August 2008. Our room overlooked elegant Plaza San Martin, the bed was heavenly, bathroom spotless clean and well appointed, service efficient, ( spoke several languages), breakfast buffet albeit expensive was worth it. Check out took five minutes. I had visitors who were very impressed by the neoclassical french decor. We will return to...

I spent one evening at the Marriott Plaza in Buenos Aires, Capital Federal. The hotel is located in Plaza San Martin which is a very central and very historic part of the city. The Plaza de San Martin offers a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions. After a 4 hour car ride from Mar del Plata to...

Me and my wife, went last month for the second time to B.Aires. The hotel is located in a very nice place, a central area, near a beatifull garden, called Plaza San Martin and in the begging of Calle Florida. The hotel lobby is classical, with wood walls, many cozy chairs and sofas. You can fell the luxury every where....

Like others, we were a little apprehensive after reading some of the other reviews of this hotel. We booked using points so we went ahead anyway. From the moment we arrived, though, we began a great experience. The staff (bellman, front desk, business center and especially concierge) were extremely courteous and helpful. The concierge staff were particularly good when it...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
