Charming boutique hotel centrally located in the San Telmo neighbourhood, with lots of bars and restaurants in the area. Very helpful staff and good breakfast. We loved the cozy room upstairs from the restaurant which felt like a beautifully decorated living room.

The reception was very good, friendly and smiling. The same in the breakfast room. In this hotel was an exhibition from paintings of Horacio Carrena, very renowned artist. We bought one of those paintings.

V helpful staff, clean airy rooms, relaxing and nicely decorated communal areas, great location. Wifi v slow and pool was a bit grubby (but it wasn't swimming weather anyway!) The bathrooms were in need of a little updating.

The hotel is ideally located for exploring the San Telmo neighborhood and is not too far from landmarks such as the Plaza de Mayo and the Palermo neighborhood. It is only 3 blocks from the famous Street Market that takes place on Sundays -- and where you can catch the free tango demos at Plaza Dorrego, and there are good...

This hotel is in San Telmo, just a few blocks from Plaza Dorrego where you can sit, people watch, and watch authentic tango in the afternoon. The hotel is clean and fairly newly appointed. Rooms center around a series of patios, where you can sit outside your room, read or have a drink in the fresh air, or meet your...

Perfect place to stay in a pleasant central barrio. San Telmo has a great Sunday market and a pleasant atmosphere. Relatively inexpensive for city centre we booked in advance and stayed several nights and got a good rate. Friendly, helpful with an excellent breakfast. Short walk to Subte. Longer walk to city centre.

Well located, clean, very quiet rooms opening on a patio and this is important given that the city is really noisy. Breakfast is complete, offers good choice and it's tasty. The service is good too and people at the desk always do the best to help you: Juan was very helpful, so thank you again. It's close to Subte Independencia...

Stayed here five nights and really enjoyed some aspects: it is created out of an old residential building and has a great vibe. Interesting as a building, quirky sculptures, some pleasant outdoor areas with comfy chairs, interesting artwork, some from an indigenous coop, really helpful front desk staff who helped with local travel info, lent us a Sube card to...

Located in San Telmo neighborhood, close to fun Sunday markets, and cool local eateries. It's a decent walk to attractions, and if you can get up to speed with the Subway system it's a great and easy way to get further out easily. Hotel was clean, only one, but always helpful, front of house staff. Shared areas great, with nice...

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
