We have just stayed at the milhouse avenue hostel for the past 5 nights and have loved every minute! The double room was great, with an amazing shower! The walking tours are such a good way to see the city (especially La Boca) we had Macarena as our tour guide and she was great! The parties are so good and...

I really enjoyed this hostel. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm room as a solo traveler and met amazing people. There is always something to do at night. The bar area is very social and the staff is friendly and helpful. Hostel was clean and comfortable. The daily walking tours to a different neighborhood of BA are great.

We have now stayed twice at this hostel and it never gets boring! The staff are overly helpful and very friendly, Barbara (on reception), and Jordy and Jared behind the bar especially. The tours are great, especially the Boca tour, which is very cheap and you get to go to Boca Juniors Stadium, which is very cool. There are two...

We stayed in the 6 bed female dorm at Milhouse. On our way to Uruguay all our belongings were stolen including our money passport and credit cards. We returned to Milhouse after this and I can not stress how helpful the staff were after this traumatic event. They went over and above to help us, spending personal time to help...

Stayed here for one night in a private room. The room was more than we expected. Lovely artwork on the walls and steps up to the bathroom. It was, however, the staff that made our trip. They were exceptionally helpful, especially when our transfers had let us down. Also, I would recommend the excursions.

Stayed here for 5 nights in an 8 bed dorm. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the tours on the wall are great, we didn't do many with the hostel but it was nice to see what was on offer. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms nice with hot showers. It's a great place to meet other...

I absolutely loved this hostel. It is ideal for backpackers. The lobby gets converted into a club on a few nights. Nice to socialise within the property. They also organise walking tours. The breakfast is nice and the amenities are pretty good too. They also organise drop-offs to the airport at reasonable rates.

We went for a walk in the Recoletta area with an excellent and enthusiastic guide, Macarena, for about 4 hours including time for lunch. She told us a Lot about the area, including funny stories and historic facts. I would recommend it, especially if the weather is good. You Can also bring children, it is in English, So they Can...

This is a massive hostel. If you like party's it's the place to be, however if you're looking for a good nights sleep then maybe look elsewhere. The staff here are great and they organised some really good day trips for us. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is very good security here too. Remember there are two...

This was the first hostel we went to on our travels and it was great. We didn't appreciate how good it was at the time. They have events on every evening so it's really easy to meet people. The staff are really helpful and have good advice on where to go. Highly recommend this place!

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
