LOCATION: Excellent location for exploring Palermo Soho on the west side of central Buenos Aires. Several good restaurants in the area; easy 15-minute walk to Malabia Station, which takes you to the center on the subway in about 25 minutes. There's a Dia grocery store a few blocks away. SERVICE: Emmanuel's service and hospitality really makes this hostel. He is always ready to help out with recommendations for exploring the area and told me a bit about the history of the neighborhood as well. Very congenial fellow to hang out with. SLEEP QUALITY: The bed and A/C are good, but the street noise can keep you up as there is no sound insulation to speak of and traffic noise that can keep you up (even though it's a block away from the major thoroughfare of Cordoba). The curtains were not blackout curtains, so even at night, the streetlights may keep you up if you're light sensitive. FACILITIES: Shower was hot and had good water pressure. Bathroom had little shelf space or hooks to put anything. There is no separation between the shower and the rest of the floor of the bathroom, so water will splash out of the shower area. There is a squeegee to address this. Wifi was good enough for communication and researching things to do in BA.

Thanks to Serrano 1111 Hostel i definitely had my first great hostel experience ever! As a solo traveller going to Buenos Aires for the very first time for 7 days on vacations, i decided to stay here because i wanted to live in Palermo Soho first, in second i wanted to meet new people which i really could consider as friends when i came back do Portugal and could teach me a lot of different things about their living experiences. That thing happened in Serrano 1111 Hostel in the very center of Palermo Soho, and this was only possible due to one guy by the name Emanuel and all the residents at Serrano Hostel! Emanuel, the hostel manager, this guy is so cool and so human friendly that i forgot i never knowed how to talk good spanish and it was like he already know me! What i most liked in Serrano 1111 Hostel is the fact that since i arrived there it never seemed like a business, and this is very important because since Emanuel gave me the keys and told me "feel like you're in your own home" these feelings came and the rest of my days were just unforgetable! First of all this is not a "design/trendy/fashion" hostel, if you are looking for a place like that go spend your money anywhere else. Its not a typically ran hostel, sometimes there is no workers there so get used to it, and the Hostel itself needs some attention, could be a 90%+ hostel if some investment went into the facilities - so much potential there!! This is a place very well located in Palermo Soho with a lot of restaurants, bars, shops, outlets, squares clubs around, there are shared spaces (kitchen, terrace, dining/living room) where you can meet new people and of course The Terrace (get lucky and dig in on one of their roof parties nights like i did!). Rooms are very large (i was staying in a 4 mix dorm room) with plenty of space for travellers luggages, the bathroom needed a little more confy ambient but for me it was just fine. Incredible value for money in great location! It is a very safe place! If you are on a tight budget it is excellent, very homely feel! Emanuel is a 100% genuine , which is important in this town! Serrano1111 is a home away from home. A great experience overall!
