There are advantages to choosing chain hotels. The offering is consistent, your expectations are often met, certain things are standard: the bedding, the greeting, the appearance of the room, the taste of the breakfast, the feel of the hotel. In short, there are usually no nasty surprises. Casa Calma however is not a chain hotel. Accordingly one's expectations for this...

This was the third of the three hotels we stayed in BA and our last stop on our 23 day trip. The hotel does a great job of using a very limited space, with spacious, well-appointed rooms with great bathrooms/spas, terrific bedding, high quality toiletries and overall peaceful environment. Breakfast is good sized, good quality. Front desk staff are helpful...

staff extremely helpful -we were greeted with list of recommended restaurants sorted by type of food. Room spacious- breakfast room small but food great. Better exchange rate at hotels than at ATM(important in Argentina where there is no such thing as official exchange rate).

There is nothing we'd change about this place. Nice, friendly people, great location, good breakfast. We found it to be a perfect choice for our stay in Buenos Aires. They gave us helpful advice regarding restaurants and area attractions. They also picked us up at the airport and dropped us off at the cruise port (for a reasonable fee).

Firstly I would like to thank the entire Casa Calma staff! They were amazing and I was beyond thrilled with their hospitality. I came to visit Buenos Aries on my honeymoon and this hotel was the best hotel I experienced on my trip. The natural and calming vibe of the hotel really puts you in a zen place. The daily...

Excellent hotel, great location. We spent only one night, but it was amazing. The room is very comfortable and the breakfast served in the room for no additional cost was delicious. Very quiet and the staff was very helpful.

This is one of the greatest hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff goes above and beyond their duties to make you feel welcome and informed. The name says it all – a calm sanctuary in the heart of a bustling city. The rooms were impeccable and clean. Breakfast was included and consistently delicious. I've been gone for only a...

Great place to spend a few nights whilst in buenos aires, lots to do! Got plenty of help and ideas from booking tango shows to visiting different neighborhoods and restaurants and even currency conversion with a good rate. Rooms are comfortable and chic too.

Casa calma really lives up to its name. The service is excellent, as are the rooms. The hotel is located right in the centre with easy access to almost all of the main city, and yet when you are in the room it is completely silent. The whirlpool bath and raindrop shower are added bonuses that really add that extra...

This truly was an oasis in the city! Rooms exceeded expectations with amenities and size ... And staff were super helpful and kind! The location was great with good shops and eateries all around. The breakfast had tons of options including eggs! They even allowed us to borrow umbrellas to use for shade in the heat of the day when...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
