Lovely little boutique hotel with spacious, airy rooms, modern high quality appointments, chic design and great service. Good location in the midst of the city center, walkable or easy subway ride to almost anywhere. Rooms in back are quieter, as they do not overlook the street, but front rooms have a small balcony.

Was there for three nights. Excellent location to walkabout, restaurants and places of interest. The hotel is small with 2 rooms on each floor. The staff there are very helpful and caring. Steak restaurant nearby is excellent, however, the Chinese buffet restaurant located in the next block is not recommended. I think, this restaurant is next to the steak restaurant.... More

Centrally located and calm. You can reach everything in the city within minutes. Rooms are quite, big and very cosy. Shower includes a small sauna. Staff is fantastic, very friendly, supportive and always looking to help you out and make you feel comfortable. Here you feel that the client comes first. We got very good recommendations (tango show, restaurants, etc.)... More

The hotel is nicely located, within walking distance to many attractions and very close to General San Martin metro station. I even managed to walk there from the Buquebus ferry station because it is quite direct. It is well positioned just off the main road so the rooms are very quiet. There are plenty of nearby restaurants, most of which... More

We had 3 nights in Buenos Aires which in retrospect was too short. This small hotel is in a very central and safe area of the city. Many things are within walking distance. The room was spacious with a small balcony overlooking a small street. The windows are double glazed so there is no traffic noise. We were in room... More

It's a small boutique hotel located in the Retiro district. 2 rooms per floor on about 6 floors. So very boutique. Reception staff is very helpful and very nice. Located very near a Subte Station(Subway) and walking distance to a lot of sites. Breakfast OK but nothing exceptional. The rooms are nice with most with a Jacuzzi. TV only in... More

It's hard to write a review of this place without repeating what everyone else has said. You have to experience the service to understand how truly special it is. They are all amazing - they should set up their own academy for training others; we'd all be grateful. They held our luggage for a couple of days while we visited... More

Location: The hotel is in a good location for being close to lots of sights (walking distance to many). There are several good and affordable restaurant options within walking distance of the hotel. We found this to be one of the best positive of the hotel location. Because it is located close to the business center, many restaurants offer very... More

We were a group of 5 on a 24hr layover and were looking for a place that would allow us to maximize our time spent in Buenos Aires. We weren't disappointed! We arrived at around 10am, and although our rooms were not ready they stored our luggage and brewed us a pot of coffee. The name calma means relax, and... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
