The first hotel in Argentina devoted to the culture of wellness. Well wrapped up in a magnificent vertical garden, it is hidden away from the city in its own world in an exquisite, fresh and healing atmosphere. Located in the very heart of downtown, a block away from bustling Santa Fe Avenue and two blocks away from famous San Martin Square and Florida Street, CasaCalma is an urban oasis.

It’s always a thrill to find a hidden gem. My husband and I met 8 friends at Casa Calma to begin a hiking adventure in Patagonia. What a a discovery! Although we arrived at 10 in the morning, we were warmly welcomed and our room was readied within an hour. The room was clean, quiet and roomy with large windows, a huge double tub/jacuzzi, comfortable bed, and perfectly-appointed with amenities any traveler could want. Our’s even boasted a private sauna! The hotel is centrally located with plenty of restaurants and city sites within walking distance. Aside from its location and rooms, the brightest facet of this gem was the staff who helped our entire group find directions, locate an English-speaking tour guide, (Lucia, who was fabulous), make dinner recommendations and then reservations. Although their tiny breakfast area was snug with our group of 10 travelers, the service was friendly and immediate; the coffee and food delicious. Our only suggestion: spend a WEEK at Casa Calma! Gracias poor todos, Casa Calma!

Our two experiences (one on the front end of our Patagonia trip and one on the back end) at Casa Calma were so lovely. This boutique hotel is the perfect size, it's well located and walkable to a variety of shops and restaurants, and the staff (Augustina, especially) was so welcoming and accommodating. We tried each category of room; both were spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a little crowded since the serving area is tiny, but it was well serviced. Luggage storage was safe and easy. My only minor grumble is that the room rate ended up being higher than what was quoted in my reservation once the hotel applied their currency conversion; $200.92 (quoted) vs. $213.21 (actual) for one night and $226.86 (quoted) vs. $237.60 (actual) for the second night. To be fair, this could be due to the extreme volatility of the peso. Overall, our experience was extremely pleasant and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Many thanks to the Casa Calma team!

CasaCalma met all our expectations and even went beyond them. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is well designed with lots of attention to details, and it strives to minimize its impact on the environment. Breakfast is excellent, the location is superb near Plaza San Martin. The hotel provided us with a list of recommended restaurants and activities, which was very helpful. On our last day we even borrowed the uniquely designed bamboo bikes to visit the Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur. We definitely recommend this place and will stay here again during our next visit.

If you’re interested in a luxury boutique hotel (17 rooms) that is eco-conscious in its practices, including the cleaning products used, look no further. Add in its central location - easy walking distance to Teatro Colon, the wonderful opera house, the pedestrianized shopping street of Florida and cafés and restaurants - friendly staff and spacious, beautiful rooms. We loved it!

A friend and I arrived at midnight. We were given a different room than the one booked (we booked garden view ti prevent street noise) and we had street view . We were informed breakfast had an additional cost even though when we booked it said it was included.
The room was spacious and very clean, super nice.
The fridge didn't work. We reported twice but no one fixed it (it was my birthday and we wanted to keep a mini cake and champagne cold).
The toilet flooded, and it made an incredible loud noise every time you flushed it.
The shower was good but you had a mini lagoon outside every time you used we couldn't discover why.
Staff was friendly but no really caring about finding solutions.
Location was GREAT!
But definitely not worth the price.
We booked through Booking.com

I tried to book this hotel for more nights but the availability was not there. I only was able to grab 2 nights and I am so glad that I did. The service at this hotel is top notch. We did not have a single issue that was not immediately resolved. I don't know where to start. The wi-fi was great! We got the breakfast included option which also includes room service. Breakfast was similar to what you could order with room service on a cruise. You fill out a form and leave it on the door and they come pick it up and deliver breakfast at your designated time. It was hot and delicious. There was all of the amenities that you could ever need. Very large space for storage of your things. Safe was easy to use. The front desk staff took us to the room and showed us how to operate everything. One thing that was a plus here was that the air conditioner actually was adjustable to where the room was cold which helps. They showed us how to change the TV to English and how to adjust the air and operate the hot tub. The water was hot. Solana at the front desk spoke great English and was super helpful. If you can book this hotel you will not regret it.

This hotel is located near the city center of Buenos Aires. It is a clean and the hotel stuff is always forward looking and friendly. On each floor are only 2 rooms which means there is in general no big trouble / noisewith potential neighbours next to your room. The breakfast room is very small but it is in general sufficient to get a seat. For those who want to stay near to the city center and would like to have a central starting point to explore the city this is a good place to start. For those who are looking for a more scenic ambience/surrounding there are also other - maybe still more boutique options- available in Buenos Aires.

This past week I stayed a total of four nights at this lovely little hotel and it was a wise choice. It is a modern place, with just two rooms per floor, total of only 18 rooms. I loved having a jacuzzi in my room. Breakfast was fine, and one could order omelets cooked to order, which mysteriously appeared on a dumbwaiter from the basement. The rooms are attractive, surrounded by greenery. The only negative I find is that the floor in the bath area is very slippery if it gets wet, a possible hazard. All of the staff at there front desk were terrific.

Just back from an eleven night stay and wanted to back up all the good things that have been said about this hotel - particularly the staff.

Before we arrived, the front desk team were always quick to get back on a couple of questions that I emailed them about. While we were there, they were helpful, attentive and helpful - each and every one of them. Can't recommend the service enough.

The breakfasts are excellent and the honesty bar a great idea too. The location of the hotel is great for exploring Buenos Aires and also within walking distance of the Buquebus ferry terminal for boats to Uruguay.

We were guests at CasaCalma in Buenos Aires following a two week cruise and it was the perfect transition back to reality. The staff of young attendants at the front desk were absolutely magnificent. They dealt with our ever-changing schedule and arranged numerous meals, taxis and a tango show for us. Their suggestions were spot-on. The room was very large and had a spa tub, which after two weeks of a cruise ship room/shower felt like heaven. The location is perfect for high-end shopping of both the Retiro and Recoleta. The hotel is across the street from the Alvear Art at a fraction of the price. Highly recommend.

How safe is the area near CasaCalma? Is it safe to walk from here to Recoleta neighborhood?
Answer from Jolly_Dreamers
Chelmsford, United Kingdom168 contributions67 helpful votes
Yes, no problems at all. Always people around the area and we never felt any issues in terms of safety. Taxis are so cheap, we jumped in one from the corner of the hotel to Recoleta, was so easy and far easy on our feet! Taxi drivers were very friendly and we had some great experiences, with our very (very) limited Spanish. Enjoy.
