I spent a pleasant couple of nights here. The hostel is clean and the staff is friendly. I was in an upstairs room on the second floor which was awesome in the sense that it was away from the common areas and I got two good nights' sleep. Being so far from the router the wifi in the room itself...

Given the cheap price, we were expecting a run down hostel. Luckily, we were wrong! This place is great, with good facilities, a nice breakfast, and wifi that actually works. The highlight was definitely the staff. One guy in particular (Marcio, I think his name was) was really wonderful - very helpful and friendly, and even remembered our names. We...

It is a very well located hostel, with nice knowledgeable staff. You can anywhere in the city from here, and staff is ready to help guide you where to go and where not to go. Felt very safe in this area as well, and I did walk the streets plenty alone as a female, also a night times. Good size...

Good hostel easy to get to from Indepencia metro stop. Good kitchen and lounge area, free wifi, clean rooms and bathrooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even let my friend, who was not staying there use the pc and print a boarding card. Good place for lunch next door and supermarket 5 mins away. Easy to walk to many...

Stayed here for four nights. About 15 minutes walk from the main centre so it was very good location. I liked the bathrooms which were spacious, modern and clean. The social areas were also nice and comfortable. A few things which I didn't like was the fact we arrived at 7am after a night bus and we pretty much got...

Awesome hostel. The staff is super feiendly. The night staff was extremely helpful in sugesting things to do while we were in Buenos Aires. Unlike other reviews we found the night staff member extremely helpful because we had arranged for him to call a taxi for us at 6 am the night prior to our departure. But our alarm didn't...

We had a great experience at this hostel. The showers, dorms, kitchen and wifi were all very good. Given the weather in BA at the time (which was very cold) everyone was in the one area which made it quite cramped and very, very loud. In better weather more people would be outside and this would be eased. The wifi...

Good location in San Telmo district, just off Av.9th July. Staff very informative an helpful with great English spoken. Security good. Rooms basic but clean. Couldn't open any window for ventilation which made room a little 'musty' to say the least! Bathrooms and toilets clean though cumbersome design, one wrong move and you'll get clothes wet! Big amount of comfy...

This hostel was oké, but not awesome. Let's start with the good things: the staff is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is included and there is always warm water. Quiet rooms, good night rest. All this for a reasonable price. What I liked less: The internet doesn't work in all rooms, you have to go to the communal area...

Comfortable, clean rooms and great staff who provide useful tips on the city and can help with bookings. Avoid if you're a light sleeper, although it's not exactly a party hostel but there are always people up late downstairs. Breakfast is basic, but does the job. Good location with metro and buses to all parts of the city nearby -...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
