The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. I speak very little Spanish, but they speak enough English to help me with any questions, including sharing ideas of things I might do for fun. It's in a perfect location -- close to a major subway station and bus stops, very near a hip shopping area, and surrounded by cool restaurants and bars. And it is very inexpensive!
I booked a twin private with ensuite from Jan 2-5. When we arrived, however, the bathroom was covered in mold to the point that it was absolutely unusable. We decided to spend one night. Poor choice. I woke up the next morning with bites and reactions along my elbow and wrists. The mattresses were old and disgusting - same with the covers. I doubt the throws have ever been washed. We left early on Jan 3th because of how filthy it was. When we discussed with the front desk, they agreed that the bathroom was unusable due to mold and thought refund 1 night of stay was reasonable. However, the manager/owner would not agree and offered to clean the room - which is ridiculous consider it is mold! Avoid this place!!!
This hostel has helpful and pleasant staff, who were patient with my poor Spanish skills, as well as being English proficient themselves. It is clean and well-structured. The breakfast is rather good. Perhaps the best thing is the excellent location, in one of Buenos Aires's best suburbs, within a quick trip on the metro to anywhere else in the city. The only downside (though small) in my stay, was the rather loud pair of men in my room at all hours of the night. Hardly the hostel's fault. I would happily stay here again.
This location is not at all recommendable. I dont want to start with all the little things that were wrong. But they had BED BUGS. and not only a few. We also found some dead ones. When we complained the reaction was even worse, obviously they knew they had bed bugs and still they werent doing anything... In contrary, we were even asked "What do you want". We got a new room, but that was all (as we couldnt leave without paying all reserved nights!). At the end we were full with bites, that are still not gone over 10 days later. To be fair: The "normal" stuff at the reception was very nice and really tried to help us out, but because of their "manager" they could not do anything but be nice to us. The manager was the worst, she really didnt care. We showed her all our bites, but she was almost never available and she really didnt care what was going on in the Hostel.…
I've booked a room with private bathroom but the room they gave me had a shared bathroom. Everything in the bedroom was very old, air conditioning and mattresses in poor conditions, and the window had a broken glass.
Well located in the center of Palermo. Rooms could be a bit cleaner, they did not restock the tissue paper for three days, which is a bit annoying. The toilets are a bit old. Breakfast was ok and the kitchen was quite clean. The hostel has a really nice rooftop terrace and a smaller terrace that is also nice. Really helpful staff, except for a girl who was a bit rude to us and forgot to call for the taxi I had asked her for to catch my boat. Be aware that the pick up service they offer is only for one of their hostels and only to pick you up from the airport, according to what they explained to us.
Generally this place is very overrated and too expensive for what they offer. My dorm doom was pretty dirty, especially the bathroom. totally disagree that this hostel is at the good location because it is a bad base for exploring the city. There is one metro line that stops few blocks away and that is it. They do have good breakfast, bad internet connection and fairly good staff. There are MANY better hostels for much better price around the city center.
The staff here are awesome, all really nice and helpful- they went above and beyond to make sure I had a good trip, they even helped me get my phone service up and running after traveling for a thousand hours. Awesome location as well, they have a ton of great spots within walking distance- I have been to Buenos Aires twice, the first time I stayed the center of the city but I really preferred staying in Palermo. Really cool neighborhood and the hostel had a good vibe. Not really a party hostel but it was still pretty easy to meet people there. As far as the cons- the common area was only alright and the bathrooms are kinda gross- but there was hot water every time I showered ! I would recommend checking it out
We stayed for one night before spotting a couple of bed bugs in the morning. We were in room 15. We cancelled the rest of our stay immediately, the guy on reception was very apologetic and worked with booking.com to refund our money as there wasn't another room available. Also we had booked for 4 nights to take advantage of the advertised free airport shuttle, be aware that the shuttle is not to the hostel but to downtown and you need to find your own way to the hostel.
We had a 4 night stay in Buenos Aires and as a late twenties/early thirties couple had a private room which was fit for purpose. Location is good, located 5 minutes from the Plaza Italia Subte undeground and Don Julios restaurant around the corner was a highlight!
