Visiting parents in Marana, visiting The Ritz is a must!! We love watching the sunset and hearing the flute player in the evening. Love there specialty drink and whiskey flight. The fried avocado is so good...
Anything at a Ritz Carlton you can expect fabulous from. The Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain is no exception. During the summer , there are some really great rates and packages here that offer 5 diamond service that The Ritz is known for. The views amongst...More
My husband and I stayed for the weekend. This place was gorgeous and the views were amazing. The entire staff was helpful and nice from the front desk and housekeeping to the servers/bartenders. The hotel does have a western feel but it is in AZ....More
My wife and I recently spent a long weekend at this property and had a blast. In a hotel world that lacks customer service and appreciation for their guests, the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain differs in the most positive way. I recommend this property! First...More
Stayed there for a conference in early 2018. Usually, hotels in the Ritz chain offer impeccable service. Not so this Ritz where Western casualness has crept over the line and become an excuse for sloppy and inattentive service. Examples include dishes left in hallways for...More

I have stayed at both. I much prefer The Boulders. Tucson is a great city with lots of outdoor activities. Phoenix is more congested in the heart of the city, but the Boulders location is beautiful. Very much a desert feel at Boulders. And the accommodations are so much better - the Dove Mountain accommodations could be any hotel anywhere. The Boulders is very much like staying at a hacienda.

It IS hot in the summer months of June / July / August in southern Arizona. Period. That said, we go there in the summer. Why? The rates are way, way down. What do we do there then? We get up early and go for a fabulous hike in the early (and I mean early ... like 6am) in and around the property for an hour or so when the temps start at 75ish and move into the range of 85-90 by 9am). If they are not too busy, we've been able to book nine holes of golf instead of the full 18 as another option, teeing off very early as well. Then, we do a leisurely breakfast and hit the pool. We personally love the spa, so the afternoon is when we book spa appointments and then we hang out in that facilities nooks and crannies reading, relaxing and loving the surroundings. Since this place is literally nestled into the mountain, the sun disappears behind them making the place shaded over by 5pm, so it starts to cool. Cool is a relative term, however. We have some dinner and then in the evening, we love to go back out to the pool area and star gaze or take another swim. After a day that is well into the 100s, temps being outside in the low 90s and sometimes high 80s actually feels cool! So, let me tell you that if you are from the Phoenix/Las Vegas or other really hot area, disappearing to this sanctuary for a couple of days to enjoy being outside for a few hours a day is terrific. And, by the way, if you happen to get an afternoon monsoon storm (they usually happen in the late afternoon or early evening), it's a fantastic thing to watch come and go from the golf club patio!
