We spent 6 days at Aquaria in March just prior to the call for Australians to return home. We stay in hotels all over Bali and we keep returning to Aquaria as it is such a special place run by really delightful people. It was our eighth visit! It has a tranquil 'zen' quality about it and there was no better place for us to be as we faced the daunting COVID situation. Toris, Wayan and all the staff make us feel so very welcome. We've never encountered a dissatisfied customer there. All seem to quickly become devotees. The rooms have an honest charm about them and being able to sit on the veranda and watch the passing parade of ferries, fast boats and traditional boats is so relaxing. Equally, reclining on a lounge around the pool or in a bean bag just metres from the water is really soothing. The pool itself, which most rooms overlook, is also tranquil, refreshing and fastidiously maintained. We eat in house most of the time - pumpkin soup, samosas and mahi-mahi our favourites. Very reasonably priced, as are the drinks. The new development Splash! oceanfront dining is a great innovation that allows Aquaria to make full use of its location directly on the water. Sunsets there are very romantic. The poolside restaurant remains an attractive all-weather alternative on wet season storm nights. And of course Vincent's is close handy for a special night out. It is a great restaurant by any world standard. Did I mention the very skilled massages in the most serene little spa lulled by the hypnotic lapping of waves on the reef? There is plenty to see and do within striking distance of Candi Dasa for the first time visitor, easily accessible with a driver (Try Wayan Ninja) or a traditional boat to White Sand Beach. There is also a number of really nice restaurants once you've been to Vincent's a few times (especially on Jazz Nights). And the hotel will arrange for a traditional boat to pick you up right out front for snorkelling near the off shore islands or further afield at Blue Lagoon. Aquaria - no place we'd rather be!…
This is our second visit to Aquaria within a year. It is truly a slice of paradise, as soon as you enter the property your worries float away and you feel calm. The central pool is an amazing focal point. We enjoy staying in a room overlooking the pool. The ocean is close by and its lovely to sit and watch the fishermen come and go as well as the tide. It's easy to while away your time here and be totally relaxed. The staff are all very friendly and eager to please. Nothing is too much trouble. The included breakfast is plentiful and there is a great variety. We eat in their restaurant most nights and love the food. The massages are 10/10. Murni has magical powers. Stay here and you will feel at home. Our number place to stay in Bali. Thank you Jenni, Ketut and team :-)
Fabulous place ....all rooms either face the pool or the sea . Loved watching all the activity on the water ....boats coming and going fishermen bringing they catches in . Staff are great Jenny the owner runs a tight ship . Rooms are cleaned to a standard that many 5 star hotels could learn from . Had 14 blissful days hardly left the resort . The food in the restaurant was too good to eat elsewhere ...breakfast on the verandah ...just a wonderful place .
Aquaria is a gorgeous little boutique hotel right on the beach front of Candidasa. The owner is from New Zealand and it’s obvious that she adores her property. It feels more like a home stay because you are treated like family and cared for. Lovely little touches everywhere. The pool is large, beautifully clean and the gardens are tended every day. The property is spotless and very well maintained. Breakfast is either served in the restaurant or brought to your patio, your choice. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. The property is a 3 minute walk to the shops and cafes. We would stay here again any day!
A wonderful small hotel with excellent staff. Booked for 4 nights but enjoyed it so much we extended for a few more. The setting is so calm and relaxing you could stay onsite all the time, comfortable sun beds and bean bags overlooking the sea and also beside the pool. It also has a nice seawater plunge pool. I must highlight the restaurant as well, serving fresh tasty food - we ate there a good few times.
