We were meant to have 6 nights at Alam Candi but with COVID 19 we could only have 1 as we had to get back to Australia. The 1 night we did have was fantastic. We had the first villa closest to the office and it was awesome. Even though there are upgrades going on it did not affect our stay at all. Our villa, as with all of them, was surrounded by fish ponds and lush tropical gardens. The room is large and spotless. There is a kettle, fridge and water bottle that is refilled when ever you want. The outside bathroom was also spotless and so much linen was supplied. The shower/ bath also had shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in refill bottles. We even had frogs on the wall in the shower. So great to see. The pool was lovely and clean and towels are provided for the pool and beach. The views across to Nusa Penida from your pool lounge are beautiful. As the restaurant and bar are closed at the moment you can still order cocktails from the front office and they are delivered to the pool. Happy hour still happens and with COVID 19 and quiet season, we were the only guests. It is a short walk up the lane to the main street of Candidasa for restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Breakfast was included and it is cooked to order so minimal food wastage. My Mee Goreng was delicious. As there are only 12 villas, it would feel like you are the only guests at any time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to head back to finish our stay once travel restrictions are lifted. Everyone that works at Alam Candi does their absolute best to make your stay enjoyable. A really beautiful resort.…
We booked this solely on basis of reviews online. We had no idea on neither the resort nor Candidasa as a place. We were disappointed in both. After a sweaty checkin procedure, we were guided through a moist path past the rooms. Just minutes after entering the room, we were disappointed. The cleanliness in the room was not as expected. Or acceptable. What we considered to be sand below the bed, was explained as fallout from bugs in the wooden framing of the bed. Seriously. The aircondition had near to no function in cooling. The towels were dirty. Not just a stain. Once white, the towels were almost brown. We asked for new, wanting to have a shower. But were told we´d have to wait for towels coming out of the laundry, as they didnt have any available. After presenting our view on the situation, we were offered to change to another room. This was supposed to recently having been fogged for bug elimination. The first thing we noticed after entering this room was a creature on the floor. For us it looked pretty much like a cockroach, whilst the front-desk-guy insisted calling it an "insect" flying down from the trees. I dont know. Anyway, it was now clear that this resort was no place to stay for us. This was also clear for the nice guy on the front desk. He took the matter seriously. After a bit of organizing (for them) and waiting (for us), they accepted to cancel the reservation and refund the fare for the whole stay. Respect for this. We left late at night for another hotel, having learnt an important lesson about reading more than the reviews.…
A lovely little boutique style resort on the water. Small restaurant with ocean views, as is the more than adequately sized swimming pool. Extremely clean and fresh looking rooms and decor and like in the majority of Bali staff go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble. We are really enjoying our stay here.
This place is an oasis small villas without TV's, the only sound is the fish flapping about within the walk ways. The staff are the friendliest that I have come against, nothing bothers them, they are on hand 24 hours. The breakfast is small in choice, but very acceptable. All in all a very noce place to stay.
We did our first open water padi certification course with the khatulistiwah team Leon and kartina at the candidasa dive resort and had a fantastic experience for our first dive. Having no real prior knowledge of diving they both made us feel at ease and ready by the time we finished our theory and pool practice sessions. Our first dive was at the USS Liberty wreck in Bali at Tulamben and what a magical first dive experience. Leon was knowledgeable and very relaxed and taught and assisted in practising our first pool sessions. Kartina was so lovely in assisting to prep us for what was to come and support us before the dives and we highly recommend diving with them. I can't wait to come back for our next dives else where. Many thanks once more for an unforgettable first experience!…
