Right to its name, ITC Grand does give the grand feeling. Special mention to Akash and Manoj for providing very good service and suggesting a great menu from Kebabs and Kurries. Shahi Tukda just melts in your mouth (a speciality of the chef). In Covid times, all the sanitisation was taken care of with well sanitized cutlery. Overall a wonderful experience, excellent food, beautiful ambience and very good staff ! will definitely come back for more !
Excellent property by the sea, wonderful rooms and excellent team to support it all. The managers specially Alisha went out of the way to make my family's stay comfortable Dont forget to dine at The Royal Afghan by the sea, enjoy the vie the food and the hospitality. Ask for Tirthan , Miyang and subrojit.
Just concluded a 4 night stay at this property. We travelled as a family of three adults and had booked two rooms - both lagoon view rooms in Court 3. The property was a comfortable 25-30min ride from the airport, despite moderate traffic. The lobby was under renovation but once done, I could see how grand the entrance would look. Sanitization of luggage, temperature scans etc were quite thorough, which we greatly appreciated. The layout is in the form of clusters of villas known as courts. Each villa has rooms on the ground and first floors. Taxis are easily available outside the main entrance and the concierge can arrange a cab for you as well, usually quite seamless even at short notice. Check in was swift and we were allocated two beautifully appointed and perfectly located rooms. Special thanks to Mr Abhishek for this. The front desk and guest relations team at this property are excellent. Our stay included one major meal a day and the first evening, we were appalled to see this was hosted in a very 'shaadi style' banquet hall. Once we got over the shock of this gimmick at ITC - we escalated it to the duty manager right away, and the issue was promptly resolved by Ms Mahima (thank you!!) - the TDH/set menu was offered to us instead - which while limited, ensured we have a high quality and safe experience. The staff , junior/assistant managers and the chefs here are wonderful - infact the service was much better than other premium 5 stars we have stayed at in Goa including the famed Taj Exotica. My special gratitude to Ms Mahima, the duty manager - who demonstrated immense patience and understanding. She is a rare member of the industry who is focussed on not just calming guests but actually fixing issues and ensuring true ITC standards. She will undoubtedly be one of ITC's prized hotelier leaders soon. Thanks also to Ms Namee (I am sorry I may have got this name wrong) and Ms Pankhuri for going out of their way to ensure we had a great experience, they were very efficient in handling the billing and housekeeping and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. I noticed a strange phenomenon at this property - the entire guest experience sits firmly on the shoulders of the middle management such as the young assistant managers. The senior folk here are seldom seen, but more of a concern is that they are completely disconnected from the guests and their needs, and the seniors demonstrate a strange aloofness (snobbish much?). The junior staff again are very kind indeed and go all out to take care of guests but it's very evident that often their bosses seem to do more harm than good. The hotel operates buggies that help get around the rather large property. If you are lucky enough to hop on a buggy with Yamunandhar, request a property tour. He is a thorough gentleman and is wonderful to chat with. The rooms are well appointed with large balconies and ample space. Special thanks to Valen for the tech support. We had to request better pillows which were immediately provided. Amenities too had to be requested but we're promptly refilled. Housekeeping is excellent, and it's evident they operate at 110% to prevent the age of the property showing. The washroom was lovely, I personally liked the shower area but the sunken tab didn't appeal to me. The shower was average, pressure lacking. Hot water was aplenty though! The WC was a bit too old and the bidet pressure non existent. The whole room and washroom had clear signs of wear and tear all over but no major complaints. Food at this property is excellent! Every single meal we had was delicious, albeit expensive on occasion. Special thanks to Yashwanth (and what a rockstar he is!), Ibrahim, and the young ladies who were showing guests to their tables. Do look up Meyang and Tirth at the Afghan Grill, their hospitality uplifts what is already a lovely seaside dinner. I do wish the Afghan Grill could double up as a coffee shop for the evening sunsets, which is a big miss. Gauri at the Pavilion is another wonderful person to look up, he is ever so helpful and always cheerful despite the long hours and chaotic guests. The restaurants are rather small though, individually and even collectively - hence seating is clearly always a challenge, especially at breakfast. A bit of investment is called for here. I highly recommend a visit to the spa, Sunil ji is a wonderful spa manager and his knowledge on treatments and the ability to strike just the right balance with guests is impressive. Also thanks to Mary for a wonderful massage. The spa here is usually very full, book appointments atleast a day in advance. One lookout are the group tours or larger groups of guests who frequent this property. They are usually rather badly behaved, and the entire experience goes for a toss, including the service levels and hygiene when such groups surface - not sure how this can be solved though. The swimming pool here is lovely, it's very large indeed and the separate adults pool is a blessing. Again, the pool bar is ill-equipped - insufficient staff and limited F&B options (no fries or finger food at all!!). The beach is one of the best I have ever come across in South Goa - it's clean and was reasonably empty. The security team and sunbed team do a great job and it's reassuring to have lifeguards on duty. In sum, a good experience. Knocking off one star and giving a 4/5 because of the age of the room and washroom, the F&B challenges we faced and the apathy of the HODs/Senior Management here. If you can ignore some of the rough edges, I do recommend a visit to this property. …
Every year we plan a family sojourn in Goa and this time around we wanted to visit ITC Grand Goa as we've been hearing amazing things about their hospitality and cuisine. Juhi and Niven were extremely courteous to get our rooms ready way before the official check in time. They also ensured per our request senior citizens were all given rooms on the ground floor and all of our rooms were in extremely close vicinity. Chef Glen whipped out some amazing gourmet while Mohit and Rahul ensured that all our gastronomic requests were well taken care off. When a family of 26 people heads out for a vacay, a lot of custom requests can come in and a lot can go wrong - but Team ITC ensured we had an incredible time.
This is a sprawling resort spread in acres of garden areas and artificial water bodies, attached to Arossim beach. The set up is wonderful with man made lagoons, bridges and gardens, The area is huge - about 45 acres and golf carts are provided on request for movement within the complex. But one thing that mars the entire experience is the chaos in their dining hall due to its very small size and understaffing. ( I don't understand why), quite unexpectable from a brand like ITC. ARE YOU LISTENING ITC? We took all meals included in the package. Getting a table and then a serving of your choice was a task in itself. So much waiting for anything to get. as every counter and entire dining area is crowded. Pressure on the dining staff is too much to handle. Room size is ok with attached balcony overlooking beautiful suroundings. Bathroom has a good sunken bathtub with hand as well as rainshower. A niggling issue is that there is no latch in bathroom doors( awkward for a family stay). On asking the management, the reply was that these are designed in such way only. Location is good with the main plus point of attached beach, whereat they provide you with towels and onsite washing point can be used to wash your sandy feet. Overall, I have graded it with four stars due to issues in service. If sorted out, it can turn out as an outstanding choice.…
