This beautifully appointed guesthouse is 8 kilometers west of downtown Stellenbosch and only 25 minutes from the Cape Town airport, The gracious hosts arranged several dinner reservations for us, directed us to a local hike among the adjacent vineyards, and provided recommendations for tasting from the tens of nearby wineries. It was too chilly in October to enjoy the beautiful...

Annemarie and Jan run a great place that is ideally situated to discover the wider Stellenbosch area. But we have discovered that on a hot summer day, the pool, with its great view over the vineyards towards Stellenbosch, is just as tempting ... The rooms are quite unique, very spacious and luxurious. The lounge is a great place to spend...

The spacious rooms are all differently designed and follow a certain african topic. That does not mean you will find the "shopping" kitsch you will find in the "african shops" in Stellenbosch in this rooms. You will find modern decoration and interior, which is sometimes not useful that useful (e.g. the open shower) but nice to look at. The dutch...

Allegria is a beautiful guesthouse with only six rooms so it is very peacefully. The rooms are spacious with a nice shower and a large bathtub. The rooms provide everything you might need and all have a private terrace with a beautiful open view off the surrounding area. There is also a large lounge with books and DVD's and a...

We spent 3 days at Allegria and were served excellent advice in Food & Wine ideas, enjoyed the excellent service and really were delighted on the views and environment over the vineyards. On a very doable distance from Stellenbosch (some 8 km) an excellent place to relakz, to start daytrips and really enjoy your holiday. Having seen multiple luxury guesthouses...

I am a bit surprised with the previous comments. First I thought that I must have been staying in another place than the other guests as the complaints did not match at all with my experience at the Allegria. The guesthouse has a very large and convenient lounge area, a computer and printer at your disposal, a huge pool, a...

Not that we were disappointed with the views, the breakfast and the location, but compared to all the other B&B's we stayed in, this was the most unpersonal stay we had. As described in another review, we were surprised to find the sign on the door that said to make a call for the front door to be opened. We...

We found the visit a tad disappointing/disheartening overall, which was a shame; our general thoughts were: 1. We had to make an international call to get the owner to open the front door, as a sign said the bell was not working. 2. Maybe she was having a bad day, but we felt the owners attitude to be less than...

Don't get me wrong, Stellenbosch is a great town but the views, comfort, and charm of the Allegria Guesthouse are magnificent. The town of Stellenbosch is a short 5-10 minute drive and all the winerys and restaurants in the area are between 5-20 minutes away. The owners are friendly, helpful, and hospitable... the rooms are spacious and comfortable... & the...

the internet presentation is very professional; compared to this presentation reality can´t match; one problem is, that parts of the guest house seem to need more maintenance and observation: inoperative bulbs in the room, flaked off colours on the deckchairs, one deckchair had a broken covering, the lawn is rather dry, some doors are jammed; but the bigger problem is,...
