In general: we stayed there for the second time in a very nice and clean suite. We decided after our first stay to go again, because the Asara is an absolutely lovely place in the wine region of Stellenbosch. The view and the area is fantastic and romantic. We knew from our first stay, that the hotel has some lacks... More

The Asara estate is simply stunningly beautiful! From the moment you arrive and drive up the sweeping drive you feel like you are in another world! It has a very spacious classy feel - the swimming pool is situated around lush green meadows overlooking a beautiful lake and mountains - almost giving it a Swiss Alps feel! Our room was... More

Having visited many wine farms in the stellenbosch area I have to say this is the best by far. We had lunch at the sansibar restaurant which was great value for money, great service and lovely food. The views from the restaurant are stunning. There were lots of staff on site to ask questions if needed. We visited the deli... More

Thinking about my stay at Asara one word comes to mind: tranquillity. The hotel has large rooms which are well-appointed. The restaurant Raphael's is reasonable, both in terms of the quality of the food and the price level. The bar Sansibar is in fact a large lounge with a large terrace. Good selection of whiskeys, cognacs etc. Nice to sit... More

This was our family's 2nd time stay at Asara (Dec 2012 - 12 people and Nov 2014). This is a small luxury wine estate hotel that not only has lovely views and very comfortable size, quiet, non-smoking rooms with aircon and free wifi but one that also caters for their guests' every need. On both occasions our daugters got married... More

We arrived in Asara after a few days in capetown... It was absolutely fabulous... From arrival we were given an upgrade to a mountain view room (218) the warm welcome immediately made us feel at home. The grounds of Asara are stunning, it's very relaxing and tranquil. We stayed for 2 nights.. The food, breakfast and dinner were excellent. Great... More

This was the 4th year in a row that I had my companies Year End meetings and function at Asara. A group of 25 plus people stayed for 4 days and it is getting better every year. The meeting facilities and function venue are perfect. Lots to do for spouses and partners during the day and the food is excellent!... More

Was our last stop on a full day wine tour - we did not eat here so cannot comment on food, but the wine tasting was great and then we sat out on the patio overlooking the lake sipping some wine. It was a bit chilly so they offered us blankets that we wrapped ourselves up in!! It was so... More

I thought about rather not writing this review...as I like to give positive feedback of some form. So from a positive point of view - The view was amazing, the service was superb, but we left hungry. And at the end of the day if like us you live in the Cape area, you want to go out for a... More

Excellent hotel with stunning views of surrounding mountain ranges, particularly impressive in the evening time just before sunset. The foot in Sansibar and Rapheals was among the best we had in our entire time in South Africa. We were particularly impressed by the views off the balcony in the restaurant which overlooks the lake adjacent to the hotel and immediate... More
