This beautiful country lodge was beautiful and a real oasis. The manager and all her staff are exceptional and service was friendly efficient and attentive. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing in the pool area at the end of the day bliss. Evening meals are great value for money tasty and well presented. The honesty bars in the sitting area...

This is situated about 10 miles outside Oudtshoorn but easy to find. The surroundings , including a vineyard , are idyllic. Our room , a suite , had two large rooms and a well appointed bathroom. We also had a private patio looking into well maintained gardens. Dominique, who checked us in, proved to be very helpful in making suggestions...

Stayed here for two nights. The room was huge overlooking the garden and pool area. The owner is delightful and very helpful. She booked us in to the Cango Caves the next day. She was around at breakfast and during the evening meals. There is an honesty bar by the pool and in the lounge. Food is very nice. You...

Very nice and friendly owners family, large air conditioned rooms, nice gardens and pool but let down badly by the quality of the food and cooking - they need a new chef urgently! A lamb shank dinner was badly prepared and served with vegetables covered in a cream sauce - totally the wrong mixture and the whole dish tasted like...

Dear Mr Swindels What a pity that you did not tell either Dominique or Vernon at the dinner that you were not happy with the meal. I have spoken to them and was told that they did ask you both if everything was alright with the dinner and you and your wife said that you enjoyed the meal. I, Helen...

I have read some of the previous reviews and everything they say is true. The accommodation is sumptuous and the location very pretty. We only stayed one night but I wish we could have stayed more. There is clearly a lot to do in the surrounding area which sadly we had to miss.

We left Spier winery in Stellenbosch to drive to Oudtshoorn using route 62, via Robertson and Montagu. Now depending upon who you speak to there are various opinions on this drive. Any of three you choose, be prepared as it is some distance. We chose the route 62 and were not disappointed. The sheer scale of the county rolled out...

What a place, I just don't know where to start. Cradled in a valley this old dutch style farmhouse is absolutely gorgeous. The room we had was one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in, with the beamed ceiling and the wooden floors, paintings and antique furniture. In fact I do not do it justice as it was...

We must have seemed like the guests from hell! As soon as we arrived there were a string of requests and demands from us: 1. "We can't get the inauguration on our TV - help" 2. "How can we get rid of him?" 3. "Can you confirm our meerkat booking?" 4."How do we get to -at least six different destinations?"...

We stayed for 2 nights in a beautiful suite overlooking the pretty gardens. Very comfortable room, nice pool, delicious breakfasts and evening meals, friendly staff. Visited Cango caves and an ostrich farm, lovely scenic drive along Swartberg Pass. Would recommend.

This 19th Century Farm was converted into a guest house about 20 years ago and offers a boutique experience that you won't forget in a hurry. As others have noted, it feels more like staying in the home of a (distant) relative than a hotel. We were greeted by the pair of enormous Rhodesian Ridgebacks (who are thankfully much friendlier...
