We were greeted by Chris, and he informed us that we had been upgraded, due to it being our 25th wedding anniversary, and we had the honeymoon suite. That alone was enough for us to feel special and welcome, but what followed over the next 3 days 'bowled us over'. Chris is a birdwatcher, he knew we were too, and...

We stayed at the above guest house during our stay in Cape Town. We were extremely happy with the accommodation. Large rooms with king size bed, comfortable chairs for two people, but rather small bathroom. The room was very nicely decorated, and had a fridge with an honesty bar. The breakfasts were very good, wide selection including continental breakfast and...

In September 2012 my wife and I took our first ever trip to South Africa. We reached Afton Grove as wary clients but, within only minutes, were greeted by Chris and Louise, made to feel most welcome and, during our ten-day stay, were treated as though we had known each other for years. Our whole stay was 4-thumbs up! The...

My first time in Cape Town, and I had the pleasure of staying at Afton Grove! Not only did we have resident birds of prey in the gardens, but Chris, the host, a keen twitcher, was happy to give us fellow birders his superb local insights. The rooms were beautiful, the staff very friendly, and we were treated to delicious...

I recently headed down to Cape Town on a business trip in Hout Bay and originally being from Cape Town knew that I didn’t want to stay somewhere with hectic traffic. Instead I stayed in the deep south of Noordehoek and what a great choice that was! I decided on Afton Grove after reading up about them previously and was...

Chris and Louise have thought of everything - the various accommodations are all superb, the food and wine list excellent, and the team always friendly and willing to help. On top of...

We stayed at the Afton Grove for 5 nights and used as a base to explore Cape Town and the surrounding region. It was wonderful to get back and always be greeted in such a friendly manner. Further to the comments of my friend and fellow traveller-David from Portsmouth-we chose Afton Grove as our base to explore Capetown and its surroundings because both my brother-in-law and my son couldn`t praise it more highly, having stayed several times between them over the last 10 years. It was a most relaxed atmosphere and Davids` reference to the willing and expert advice...
