Unique, intimate and stunning location. From the moment we arrived and had to be picked up from the carpark (no cars allowed) we were made to feel very special. The room we had was stunning, spacious, special, beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable.

We stayed in the Moroccan suites for 2 nights. The individual cottages are beautifully decorated, including a bathroom with huge glass windows and partial roof so you can lie in the bathtub and admire the forest around you! The cottages are well situated to ensure privacy and have their own terrace and outdoor bar. You really feel hidden away in...

We'd read about the Phantom Forest before we planned our trip and really wanted to stay there. We booked for two nights in a classic tree suite. It was a magical experience and certainly a unique place to stay! The suite itself was beautifully decorated with a large terrace and a gorgeous bath overlooking the trees. You really do feel...

We stayed here for three nights in early April. The setting and accommodation is beautiful, and the food was great - the evening meals were very enjoyable, and very reasonably priced for a 6 course menu. However, the website promises much more than the place delivered. There were supposed to be a second restaurant, but this was closed. They also...

Thank you for your review on Phantom Forest. We regret that we did not live up to expectations that you found on our website. Phantom Forest prides itself with guest service excellence and we do take your comments seriously. Unfortunately our Moroccan"Çhutzpah" restaurant is only open for groups of twelve or more. We sincerely hope that we get the chance...

We thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon getaway here. If you want a secluded, magical place to escape to, this is it. Our cabin was spacious and very private. Staff were incredibly helpful. We dined one night at the lodge and ate breakfast there every morning - portions were very generous and food very tasty. Staff do need to drive you up...

This place is a real marvel: luxurious, beautifully appointed rooms, each with total privacy, built into the forest on a mountain. Sit on your private patio, just you and the birds and the views, and be transported. A great antidote to hectic travel in Cape Town and elsewhere in South Africa. Perfect for couples or for individuals who want a...

We stayed here for one night, in one of the upper tree houses. The room was one of the most unique places I have ever stayed. We had an outdoor jacuzzi bath on the deck outside the room and it was an unbelievable experience!! The hotel is arranged in a circular loop...accessed through various boardwalks which are lit up at...

Few words can describe what it feels like to sit in a bath right in the middle of nature. Total bliss comes to mind... The location, lay-out and overall experience is something that must be experienced for at least one night. Bucket list item. The entire staff is extremely helpful, kind and efficient. The food is excellent. Not much more...

This was the first stop on our honeymoon and the best! From our very private Shongolola tree house to the most exquisite 7 course 5* meals, relaxing massages, their 'bubble barrel' and being surrounded by the most beautiful breakfast setting - multicolor loeries flitting through the milkwood trees. Yes, breakfast service wasn't as fast as in Cape Town but that...

While this was lovely accommodation it didn't quite fully meet our expectations for a variety of reasons. While I loved our lodge, my husband thought it was a little contrived. While he loved the food, I found it sickening with a bad combination of flavours (the Gorgonzola ice cream for desert actually made me feel sick - it wasn't described...
