This is a wonderful choice when staying in the Knysna region. The hostel is very clean and tidy, and the staff are by and large (with one exception, see below) really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. The only downside was that the man at reception who met us was somewhat socially inept. He was on the phone when we...

Knysna Backpackers was great. Really nice and open people who work there, always there to give you tips. Great for backpackers as well as couples. It was busy when we came there (december) but everything was clean and we felt really safe at Knysna backpackers.

Knysna the heart of the Gatden Route is so tranquil and beautiful, not nearly enough time spent there. View from the head drive and walk exquisite. Back packets with in walking distance to town and water front. View from the steep area

Situated in a quiet location overlooking Knysna town and lagoon, this attractive property offers clean, bright rooms and good facilities. That sounds like an estate agent's blurb, but it's all true. Knysna Backpackers is a really well-run hostel. Attention to detail makes all the difference, for example at breakfast the staff make sure everything is constantly replenished and even the...

Very pleasant stay for our family. Friendly staff. We felt at home from the time we arrived. Good lacation and we could even walk around. Clean and lots of space. Breakfast was a bonus. We hope to stay there again on our next visit to Knysna.

The backpacker was quiet and the facilities clean and fully equipped. The breakfast was with everything you can think of (cereals, bread, fresh fruit, etc.) friendly staff, which can give you good tips where to go. Only thing i missed was a good common room. Where is one in the same room as the reception, however its not the most...

The concept of being "at home" is as I think a full success. Very friendly people, very personal and relaxing atmosphere. Knysna is not very big though but there is still some activities to do (cycling to Knysna head e.g.). For Sushi lovers: on Mondays there is half price Sushi in "34° south"-the best and cheapest Sushi I've ever eaten!...

I have a disability and depends on a guide dogs for independent. I made a request to stay at this backpacker but was refused because I have a guide dog. This is against the advise of the Guide Dogs of South Africa and against the human rights laws of South Africa. I have travelled extensively in Australia and New Zealand...

I would like to comment on this defamatory remark from "deaftraveler" Firstly - we actually are great animal lovers !! You did not request a stay ...but BOOKED directly through booking.com where it clearly states that we do NOT allow pets! Had you e-mailed and requested if this was acceptable i could have informed you our policy and the reasons...

We stayed here for two nights in the (girl) dorm room. One of the best rooms we have stayed in, very big and bright! Neil is one of the local hosts and is very helpful and nice. Breakfast was arranged perfectly and everything was very clean.

Stopped here on the baz bus and had a great welcome. It's relatively small, so not a 'party hostel' and is about a 5min walk from the main street and about a 15min walk from the waterfront. Staff are super helpful and good to offer advise on things to do in Knysna. It's clean and comfy and quite quiet at...
