I try to stay at the Jambo Guest House whenever I'm in Cape Town. The owners are superbly helpful in guiding strangers to the Cape into getting the most out of their days. During this most recent stay they helped a few folk from Northern Europe get the best out of just two days in Cape Town, which is about... More

We were staying for three nights in Cape town and we looked for a place that felt familiar. We chose Jambo and we are really happy that we did! It's a proper guest house, with a small terrace, a pretty garden with a small pond and lovely hosts, Barry and Mina. The rooms were tidy, breakfast is good, the staff... More

If you want to stay somewhere unique and not a sterile hotel this is the place for you! Wonderfully situated within easy access to downtown Cape Town and the V&A waterfront, Jambo guest house is uniquely decorated with wonderful touches. The room we had (African) was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Barry and Mina were excellent hosts and a mine... More

Spent nights in three different rooms during our stay. Each room an experience in itself. Got two more rooms left for next trip. 😊 We felt at home and will recommend this place to all we know. The hotel also within walking distance to Waterfront./Bertil & Gullveig

Our room and bathroom were perfectly clean and bed comfortable. It was quiet. The room was big enough to feel comfortable. The breakfast had all the things you want: muesli, cut fruit, muffins, cheeses, etc. Barry and Mina are friendly and helpful. They were also happy to accommodate our request for a late check out. They are well located in... More

Jambo Is a great place to stay to capture the true spirit of Cape Town and surrounding areas. Barry and Mina made us feel right at home and shared their extensive knowledge of their hometown and Africa. This amazing couple has lovingly transformed a 130-year-old house into an enticing oasis filled with personal touches, great furnishings, fine food and infectious... More

Granted we stayed in the winter, but we found the room cold. Mina was away but I understand she is a great hostess. The location was central, however, we were woken by door bells at 2:00 in the morning (a few times) with people looking for vacancy.

Life goes by so quickly but somethings you don't forget. Four years ago in July 2012 ( not the may 2015 date below) we went to explore south Africa. The Zambezi Safari and Travel Company had recommended Jambo Guest House and we were not disappointed. Lovely little guest house in a great location in Cape town. Barry and Mina were... More

We stayed twice at Jambo Guest House and will surely come back. It is a small guesthouse with just a handful of rooms, all individually and creatively furnished and decorated. The small, but absolutely beautiful small garden with a pond and even a jacuzzi made us forget that we are actually in vibrant city. But what makes Jambo most unique... More
