I was a bit disappointed. First we were placed in the wrong room. My french toast 'with a selection of seasonal berries' was 4 gooseberries. 4. No selection. And although the room was nice enough and the staff friendly, the place needs some maintenance.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was central (although at night it can feel unsafe walking up and down Main Rd.) and walk-able to a range of locations throughout the day. Complimentary breakfast was delicious.

I stayed only one night at the Sugar Hotel, but I was happy I chose it. Located half way between the Waterfront and the City Centre, it is an easy walk to both. I was in contact with Nkosi quite a few times before my arrival and he was always very patient with all my question and spa booking changes....

We loved this quaint boutique hotel! Classy, gorgeous rooms. Central for all things touristy and lovely outdoor breakfast! The terrace restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating was just lovely both in the evening as well as for breakfast in the morning. The staff was really helpful and friendly too.

Stayed here in February for 2 nights. Great location close to the V and A Waterfront (we walked for 10 mins to a restauant one night) breakfast was great and it was included in our deal. Rooms were well laid out with good en suite. We were offered a move from the room we booked with plunge pool. When it...

The bad: Restaurant closed. If I had been told, I would not have booked or would have cancelled. It was not even mentioned at check-in. This was the main issue for me. Limited breakfast menu offered. Maintenance issues. Water stains on wall. Broken wardrobe hinges. Unusable Wi-Fi. No mini bar. Noise from traffic quite noticeable. Annoying front door manual locking...

Walking distance to waterfront restaurants, hotel had small restaurant that served great food. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean. Nothing but good things to say about this hotel!

I'm keen to highlight the exceptional service delivered by the staff at this hotel, faultless. We stayed in room two which faced the main road, the noise from the road from 5.30/6.00am is noisy and intrusive. We were woken both nights of our stay by returning guests talking in the corridor, not loudly but room door/wall not sound proofed. The...
