We had a fastastic first night at the start of our trip and then back for three nights at the end. Antony, Jean Claude, Michelle and the guys there couldn't do enough for you. The staff are so friendly and warm. Great location, lovely walk into town by the sea and great places close by to eat in the evenings....

The beauty, comfort, and location (short walk to the sea) are not even the best things about BHL (but certainly are more than wonderful!). BHL goes even further by providing you with an experience orchestrated masterfully by owner Antony, to be cared for by himself personally and his lovely staff. Smiling and attentive, yet somehow they are right there when...

We loved everything about our stay. The lodge is both stylish and safe. All the staff are wonderful, with special mention to Michelle and Jean Claude. If you imagine a place where they have have thought of everything to make your stay a success then this is what it would be like. If you do stay here I would take...

I stayed here in July 2011 and came back with my wife in March 2012. It is always possible to find fault with a hotel/guest house but to do so here would really be nit-picking. Since my last review I have stayed in other South African Guesthouses which were all good but none can come close to the welcome, service...

First impressions do not disappoint at Blackheath Lodge. From the moment you arrive the attention to detail is evident throughout and sets this quality establishment apart from other guesthouses. When combined with the quality of service from the ever friendly and helpful team, headed by Antony, who very efficiently attended to all our requests, some without us having to ask(!)...

Just a terrific place to stay. Delightful rooms, wonderful staff, a fabulous breakfast and so, so helpful in every way. Cannot recommend it highly enough. We had always stayed at the Cape Grace previously and we were 1000 x happier at the Blackheath.

What a marvellous guest house! We arrived early expecting to be told to dump our bags and come back later so when we were invited for tea on the terrace and given some great tourist advice, I was very pleasantly surprised. Anthony was wonderful and arranged taxis and transport to the airport the following day. He even took a photo...

We booked a room for three nights at Blackheath after reading the reviews here on Tripadvisor. We both favour smaller, boutique-style places to stay so Blackheath seemed to tick all our boxes. What blew us away once we arrived was the genuine, warm and friendly welcome by Antony; sitting us down on the veranda with some tea, guiding us to...

reluctant to write a review as it has to be a good one which might mean that the Blackheath Lodge is fully booked the next time I want to visit. AND I will be coming back because it was great!

I stayed at Blackheath Lodge for a second time at the end of March and as soon as I arrived I was reminded how superb this guesthouse is. It is truly one of the loveliest guesthouses I have stayed in. This time I had one of the rooms upstairs (I think it was number 6) and it was so beautifully...
