We arrived in Cape Town not really knowing a lot about it, but everyone here welcomed us so warmly it dispelled any fears we had. The breakfasts were really good & the staff lovely. The reception staff were helpful & friendly. We have to return to this fabulous guest house.

We (family of 2 adults and 2 children) have just come to the end of a wonderful 5 nights stay at the start of our SA trip. We couldn't have been be happier; our family room was comfortable and spacious; the breakfasts were delicious (especially the homemade breads and muffins); the house itself gorgeous both inside and out; and the...

Welgelegen Boutique Hotel in Cape Town offers the best possible: quiet, comfortable accommodations on well-kept grounds just a few blocks from one of the city's busiest streets. We spent three nights here upon arrival in Cape Town and used it as our base for a Cape tour, a walking tour of the city's new coffee roasters and artisanal restaurants, and...

Before we arrived I was a little unsure about Welgelegen because some of the photos on various websites don't do it justice. But it was fabulous: warm service, great breakfasts, beautiful outdoor space and sitting area. The type of place that would be as nice to visit in winter as much as summer: felt like a lovely place to tuck...

Our first wedding anniversary was celebrated in South Africa. First stop, the Welgelegen Boutique Hotel in Cape Town. We had a prearranged photo shoot and at the last minute, the photographer made last minute changes. The manager a the hotel was our savior. She arranged the delivery of my flowers and eased my concerns. The hotel is in a great...

This was our first stop on our first holiday in SA. What a great start especially after an eleven-hour non-stop flight (with no in-flight entertainment!!). The Welgelegen is a converted Victorian house on Stephen Street that has then been combined with another " out the back" on Hofmeyr Street. Other reviewers have captured the great taste with which this has...

Huge beautiful room with a very large balcony. The view from the balcony, looking down on the courtyard with pool. Views to downtown Cape Town And Table Mountain. Small intimate hotel with huge sitting room and indoor or outdoor eating. Everything very tasteful. Brilliant breakfasts and great staff. Very close to good restaurants, and very well located for sightseeing.

Superbly placed, divine old fashioned building with a central courtyard and plunge pool. This is one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed in. Such a calm, relaxed atmosphere, very attentive staff and a superb breakfast on the terrace. Will definitely be calling here again.

This lovely boutique hotel is located a mere 5 minute walk from the wonderful restaurants of Kloof Street but it is located on a quiet side street. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed and the staff is attentive to your every need. This is a perfect place from which to explore Cape Town. Thank you to Charlie Harper of...

My wife and I visited Cape Town in February and were lucky enough to stay at home his small hotel straight out of Home and Garden! We were lucky enough to stay for four nights in room 9 with great views of Table Mountain. Room was well equipped with tea making facilities, stocked fridge and free local port. Breakfast was...
