We loved our time at the beautifully (African) decorated B&B. The residential neighborhood was safe with nearby restaurants that we could walk to. (and also a cheap cab-ride to V&A) The hosts were responsive during the reservation process, upon check-in provided a comprehensive city and neighborhood guide, and gave friendly advice throughout our time there. Breakfast was served in a...

We are actually still staying at An African Villa, but I felt so compelled to write a great review that I thought I would write it now! Great neighborhood - walking distance to lots of great restaurants and downtown within walking distance. It doesn't feel as "touristy" as the V&A Waterfront (which, is only a $7CAD taxi ride away). Keith...

The fact that this was our second visit says a lot. We very rarely return to the same place let alone the same accommodation. An African Villa is perfectly placed as a base for starting out your Cape Town Holiday. We stayed 2 nights and used the time to relax after the flight and to do some shopping. The villa...

Well where can I begin. The location of the Guest House is just the best to stay. Very close to Kloof Street, very safe and quiet at night and the best: in an old victorian style building. If you enter we were amazed by the african decoration with the mixture of urban cape town design. The owners and the staff...

Everything about this hotel is great. The bedrooms are luxurious, the interior design is very funky and the breakfast in the courtyard the best we've had (with touches like freshly griddled american pancakes and amazing fruit salad). Best of all are the personal touches. The owners sit down with you when you arrive and, over a cup of coffee, help...

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in SA...We stayed at An African Villa at the start and end of our holiday and both times we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Villa is well placed being near to Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula and close to Camps Bay. Cindy and Keith were very helpful in advising us of...

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time here. A great place to chill out in Cape Town. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. My partner left his wallet in one of the common areas with a substantial sum of money in it, and it was duly returned to him by the duty manager.

Stayed at the Africa Villa for 2 nights, and were sad to leave. The personal attention was defaintely something which hands down was the best than in any other place in SA. We stayed in Cape Town a total of 1 week, then did the Garden route for another week. Throughout our time in SA we stayed in B&B's ,...

We too enjoyed our stay at an African Village. Our room was large and comfortable and beautifully furnished, with a good-sized well equiped bathroom. We enjoyed our welcome and the advice on dining out (Miller's Thumb, an excellent choice). We did not experience any noise issues and enjoyed a quiet drink on the patio on several occasions. It was a...

We thoroughly enjoyed An African Villa. The owners and staff treated us extremely well and we felt very much at home. The breakfasts are unbelievably delectable, the decor was unique and very comfortable, the location was perfect and we always received great recommendations for our meals. Please stay here! We can hardly wait to go back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Villa is much more than that! It is in fact three houses which are part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. The double story houses have been joined together and so the inside spaces are much larger than the facade suggests. It's like walking into a TARDIS someone has written on Tripadvisor! There are 12 rooms and the hotel is owner managed.Location is vital when choosing a spot for you vacation and this more than a Villa is within an easy walk of all tourist attractions in the city area. The others (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter there's a sociable dining room and an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts are very careful to offer you as much information as you want and they will arrange car rental, restaurant reservations, tours etc. As required.Free internet on 2 computers in a library area and wireless access is available in all rooms. At night the night porter will set out complimentary sherry and port and at other times there is an honesty bar and guest fridge in the kitchen. Parking is on street and there is no charge (street guards patrol) but you should not need a car from this well placed hotel. ... more   less
