History and modern luxury merge to create ageless beauty at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel, which was built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse. This iconic establishment was named after Queen Victoria and her son, Prince Alfred who played an intrinsic role in the establishment of the Breakwater Basin, now the V&A Waterfront. The hotel is located in the very heart of this internationally acclaimed destination and is a sophisticated retreat amid the buzz. It offers some of the most enviable views of Cape Town Harbour, Table Mountain and the slick city that stretches out at the foot of this Natural Wonder. Timeless elegance and personalised luxury are found at the award-winning Victoria & Alfred Hotel.

Great location at Cape Town waterfront with views of harbour and table mountain. Other restaurants on door step, shops, harbour trips, sight seeing bus, aquarium etc. Great breakfast choice, probably the best I have seen with tables inside or out. We had a loft room which was

Thank you for your wonderful review of the V&A Hotel and our offerings - with particular reference to our unique breakfasts as well as our team members who are always willing to go the extra mile. Early flights coming into Cape Town are always a challenge in a popular hotel like ours and such it is not always possible to have rooms ready for everyone arriving on these flights, especially the BA flight from Heathrow. However we certainly never apply the "come back at 14h00 check-in time" policy and look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Cape Town!

Nice & tidy rooms. Friendly staff. Great location. Can be a bit noisy in the evening as amidst a tourist location. Breakfast excellent with oysters and excellent SA bubbly wine. There's a quite place 50m walking distance with a small pool but felt very relaxed there + away from

We booked a loft room however we were given 2nd floor room which is a bigger room. The location is right in the middle of the harbour and faces Table Mountain. There are plenty of shopping and dining nearby in the waterfront. The car park is free and staff look after car. The

I did not see the lift rooms. My room was facing the street looking directly at the Ferris wheel. This hotel is very nice and I’m sure thus room would be wonderful. I am guessing it is on the top floor which would make for a beautiful view. Enjoy your stay

My friends stayed on the 1st floor and we stayed on the 2nd floor, all rooms were very spacious as this building is a refurbished old dock side style building. Your room will be on the 3rd floor built into the high pitched roof line and l am sure will be great but will be a smaller room. There are many safe restaurants and casual drinking areas within 50-150m of the hotel and a mall also close by. Highly recommend the Grand Hotel on the harbour front plus and the Fish Market Restaurant, had great seafood. Bit of advice if heading to Table mountain, if a clear day head up early, 8.00am or if the day will be clear head up about 1.30-2.00pm as will save a 1-2hr queue. Enjoy Cape Town.

I'm a light sleeper too, and I bring a small white-noise machine everywhere I travel. You can get one in the baby section of department stores. Bring an adapter and a transformer if it doesn't convert to 220V. FYI - South Africa has a very specific adapter -- it is not the one in general use in Africa. This is a ROUND three-prong adapter.

Normal saving water precautions are in place. Cape Town has now connected into a nearby aquifer which is supplying 5m litres of water and they have also taken delivery of an desalination plant with another 5m litres per day. Rains are due in May so the panic is over for now. Good water saving practices are still asked for but if you are staying in the city area you may not be affected.
